Instagram Weekend

Hello all! It's monday, but I'm trying to stay in a good mood because this week is exam week. Bleh, I need to keep my head up! So why not reflect on what a fun weekend I had?

1. On Saturday I spent time team bonding with the Quidditch team, who I LOVE so much! We handed out awards and I won Most Improved! Woo hoo! I was excited :) I had changed to the Beater position halfway through the year and it's honestly the best position EVER! My teammate found this awesome tumblr with a bunch of quidditch memes and it's just fantastic.

WHEN OUR TEAM KEEPS BLUDGER CONTROL

We watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, ate pizza/cookies/chips/pretty much any junk food, and voted on new positions for exec next year. And guess what? I'm co-chair for programming/fundraising! Ahhh I was so excited I got it! So Saturday was a pretty awesome day :)

2. I started my 30 day journaling challenge! I'm using prompts from Oh Shoot and it's so much fun! I look forward to writing something new everyday. I'm pretty sure the prompts are meant for art journaling, but I'm not much of an artist so I'm just writing about each one of them each day. I love being able to have something new to write each day! And the notebook I found at Walmart (it was only $3!) is just so cute!

3. I got up on Sunday and ran 6 miles, then ran 3 miles this morning! I love running so much now and that's all thanks to my half-marathon training. I decided to start training in January and now I couldn't even imagine going even three days without running. It's become part of my routine and I've gotten into such good shape! Since January, I've lost 15 pounds all because I've ran every day and started to eat healthier. Isn't that awesome? The half-marathon is this Saturday, so hopefully that goes well! I can't wait!

4. After my run this morning I got a strawberry banana smoothie and it was sooooo good! Seriously, I could probably live off of them.

5. I made a schedule for blogging today! I saw that a lot of other bloggers do this and though, why haven't I thought of that before??? I actually have a notebook at home that's PERFECT for keeping my blog organized, but I don't go home until Friday, so I just made a temporary one. I'm already really excited about actually making the posts I planned. Yay for being organized!

6. Ahhhh the dreaded finals. My first two are tomorrow and I'm going to start studying as soon as I'm done writing this post. You wonder why it's so long....haha but I'm not too worried about my tests tomorrow. What I'm dreading most is waiting until Friday to go home! A ton of people get to go home tomorrow or Wednesday, but of course I have two tomorrow and ONE on Friday, so I'm here all week. But after that it'll be SUMMER!! Yay! Okay, well I'm going to leave now so that I can stop boring you all and actually do my homework. Hope you're all enjoying your Monday!

Take me out to the ballgame

Hello everyone! I had such an awesome night last night because I went to my very first Cincinnati Reds game! For free! Woo hoo! I went with my service fraternity and all we had to do was collect bottles during the 7th inning stretch. I love baseball so much (I used to play softball, so it doesn't bore me like it does many other people) and I was so excited I got to go to the game for free! I put together a nice little collage of all the pictures I took while I was there :)

It was super cold (okay, not super cold but still cold for it being spring) so that wasn't all that fun, but watching the game was awesome! The Reds aren't exactly the best team, but I still enjoyed watching the game. They ended up losing 6-2 to the Houston Astros (at least they were when we left when the 9th inning started).

But oh my goodness, cleaning up the bottles was a surprise. They sell beer in the stands, so EVERYONE was drinking and it smelled so nasty. But, being the environmentally friendly gal that I am, I picked up peanut-shell-covered bottles from the floor in order to save our environment! It wasn't that bad, except some guy threw his chicken fingers and fries into our bag, then handed me his napkin like I was there to pick up all his trash. Ummmmm no. Haha, I had to take it back out of the recycling bag and the guy didn't care. Oh well, other than that we collected tons of bottles to recycle! Yay!

So overall it was a fun night and I got to save the environment while watching America's favorite pastime :)

I Heart That: Flower Power

I'm not sure if it's because it's spring, but I have been absolutely OBSESSED with flowers. And pastels. They're just so gosh darn gorgeous.

I wore this outfit Monday and did not want the day to end because I loved it so much! The best part? The shirt is soft (it's from Delia's)! Haha, it was so comfortable and I felt so cute! Definitely the perfect outfit for springtime!

These nails are SO adorable! The next time I go to the store, I'm definitely buying some pastel colored polishes and maybe try out a fun, striped design :)

Gahhh I want to own this skirt! Isn't it gorgeous? I love how it goes so well with the white shirt!

This picture literally holds everything I want to wear this spring. Those pink shorts are arable and I am insanely in love with the colors. That pink shirt is so fun and those green/blue shoes are so cute! I'm pretty sure I'm drooling right now because I want them so much...

And last but not least, some pretty floral dresses. I have become so enamored with summer dresses, so I'm definitely adding more of them to my wardrobe this summer! Well, when I get a job and actually have more money to spend on my wardrobe :) But when that time comes, I'm definitely adding a floral/pastel dress to the collection.

Going to the chapel...

Hello everyone! So this weekend was so much fun because I got to go to my cousin's wedding!

The wedding itself was so adorable and my cousin looked so pretty! She and the groom were so in love and it was just so precious to be a part of. And I can't believe she's married! Being there made me want to get married so bad, but I guess I have to find the guy first...Haha, anyways here's the dress I wore!

Of course it's sparkly!! I love it so much and was super excited to wear it that day! And the heels didn't hurt at all! That was an added plus :) After going to her wedding I seriously cannot wait to get married. Better start searching for that guy now! I already have an entire board on Pinterest devoted to my wedding :) Ahhh I can't wait to find that someone, have a magical wedding, and then spend the rest of my life with them :)

Craft Corner: Racerback Workout Shirt

I found a really fun workout shirt on Pinterest and decided to try it out!

This was super fun to make and so easy! If you want to see more detailed directions, just click on the picture above! It'll take you to the website of the people who made it! Here's how my turned out...

I cut the front a little too low, so I was thinking of using this shirt for the pool/beach or if I'm running on a really hot day! And here's the view from the back...

Isn't it cute!? If you like it, you should try it out! It only took 15-20 minutes, and it was a nice break from doing my hours of homework. Haha, but seriously, try it out! I'm so excited to be able to wear this one :)

To Do List: #6

#6: Have a Pen Pal

I know it's been FOREVER since I've posted, I've been super super busy with it being the end of the semester and all. BUT I promise to be posting a lot more now! And I'm starting up again with something else I crossed off my to-do list! I started a pen pal program on my other blog and had some lovely ladies sign up, so now I have two pen pals! Woo hoo! I officially sent my first letter to Uruguay today :)

It was so much fun writing my first letter and I'm SO excited to receive my first letter! One of my pen pals is from Uruguay and the other is from Indiana. Ahhh it's just so much fun! I'm so happy I started the program and can finally cross it off my to-do list! Hopefully having my pen pals will last a long time because I love being able to have friends from so many different places!

We'll see how long it lasts, but I hope I have my pen pals for a very long time! And now that's two things crossed off my to-do list! I'm making some headway! Yay! Hopefully I can cross another item off soon! But in the mean time...

Happy Easter!

So I got to go home this weekend for the first time in a month and it was so nice! On Sunday morning, I woke up to find the Easter Bunny had visited with some goodies :)

I'm sooooo excited to eat all of this chocolate! Anyways...after I saw my basket the family went to church!

Here's me and my sister in our adorable Easter dresses! I love the colors in mine because I have been OBSESSED with floral patters and pastels lately. So I felt pretty darn good this morning :) And then my mom made an AMAZING Easter lunch with au gratin potatoes, broccoli, and ham. It was sooo good! I always eat way too much when I'm home from school, but it's so good that it's worth it! I hope you all had as good of an Easter as I did! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful day :)

Awesome April :)

Hellooooo my lovely readers :) How are you all doing today? I actually had a pretty darn good day! First off, I loved my outfit this morning...

Nothing like the Eiffel Tower to put you in a good mood! And I LOVE that plaid jacket my sister gave me! She got it from Delia's but barely wore it, so she gave it to me! Woo hoo! Anyways...it's Thursday! Which means that tomorrow is Friday and I get to go home for the first time in a month for Easter weekend! I'm so excited because I haven't seen my sister since February, which is wayyyy too long for us!

What's been making me so happy, though, is just how pretty it is outside! April is such a gorgeous month and spring is by far my favorite season of the year. I love being outside and it's inspired me to wear cuter clothes and just look as happy as I feel! School is going great, I might be getting a job for this summer, and my book blog is going great, so what more could I even possibly ask for? And that's basically it with me! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful day :)

To Do List: #14

#14: Pull an all-nighter

That's right! I, Jessica, pulled my official first all-nighter at the age of 18 years old. At Miami, the Residence Hall Associate put on The Redhawk Hunt where teams of 12 players hunted on Miami's campus for 24 hours. At 7pm on Friday night, my team got a packet of 500 clues, where we had to solve them, then get our picture taken next to that building/place with the correct clue number and number of people it specifies to be in the picture in order to get the points. And I stayed up for the entire 24 hours until the game was over at 7pm Saturday night.

Throughout the night, clues about secret idols hidden around campus were released to team members who  had to solve them, then let their team know the location the fastest. Once the team members knew the clue, they would sprint off to the location of the idol (the idols are worth extra points). I seriously felt like I was in the Hunger Games. I was jogging to every location, sprinting after idols in the dead of the night, and had so much adrenaline pumping that I never even felt tired. I was even sitting in a tree at one point while I was waiting before leaping off and sprinting to a dorm building to grab an idol. Good thing I'm training for a half-marathon and can run 9 miles straight because I REALLY needed my endurance to kick in then, and it did.

At the beginning of the challenge, a Miami University faculty member was actually on The Amazing Race and talked to us about her experience. It was so amazing to hear about and I would absolutely LOVE to be on The Amazing Race! I have proven I can complete Miami's version of it, so why not try the real thing? Haha, I don't know if it will ever happen, but it's nice to know it's a possibility!

We figure out who won the race next week (who received the most points), so keep your fingers crossed! But even if we don't win, I got one thing out of it: being able to cross something off of my too do list!

And that's my very first thing I can check off my to-do list! Woo too! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a beautiful day :) I'm gonna go do a celebration dance with the lovely boys from One Direciton...
