[Instagram] Simply Summer

-If it isn't obvious already, my sister and I are obsessed with Krispy Kreme. So when their new batter donuts were released, we knew we had to try them. We each got a cake batter and a brownie batter donut. The brownie batter was definitely the best!
-I started work on Tuesday and I absolutely love it! Little kids are so adorable and I get to work with them all morning/night long :) My favorite part is definitely being able to color some Frozen pictures with them.
-Rosie is not feeling this heat. Haha, she loves to hang out either in or kennel or on top of the vents for the air conditioning.
-So much reading now that it's summer! I love it!
-With summer comes my crafting bug, and I finally did a mason jar craft! I decided to paint the inside of some jars, so make sure to look out for a post detailing that craft soon!
-For Memorial Day, we made a brownie fruit pizza that turned out to be the perfect dessert to our cookout.
-My sister, mom, and I went to the Memorial Day parade in our town on Monday morning to watch our dad drive a veteran in his Corvette. The only downside? No one gives 20 year olds candy :(
-Half Price Books was having a 20% off sale for Memorial Day! You bet I went and scoped out the sale.
-I rode in a Memorial Day parade on Saturday with my dad and it was a lot of fun! Great bonding time and I even got some delicious cinnamon chip pancakes from Bob Evans for breakfast :)

What I Wore: Mint Shorts and Sequined Sweaters

Sweater- Macy's | Shorts- JcPennys | Shoes- Nordstrom Rack | Socks-Kohl's | Sunglasses- Primark

Today was such a pretty day and I couldn't help but dress to reflect my mood! I felt so bright and spring-y in my outfit today. Especially with those shoes! My sister and I went to Nordstrom Rack for the very first time this past weekend and it was amazing. How have I not shopped there before?! I got the pair of Sperry's I'm wearing for only $33! For Sperry's! Yeah, I was pretty excited. I got pair of turquoise flats for only $17 and it was so hard to stop there. But I had to limit myself, so I walked out with two pairs of shoes for only $50. I'd say it was a success!

I am absolutely obsessed with the color mint pretty much all year round, so I knew I had to have those shorts when I saw them at JcPenny's. And they match my shoes perfectly! Oh, and excuse the little cutie that popped into my pictures. Rosie tends to follow me and my sister around when we're home for the summer, so she was definitely curious when we left her to go take some pictures. No surprise, she plops down right next to me! So I had to say hi!

I'm hoping to do more outfit posts this summer, so hopefully this one is the first of many! My sister and I have been dying to go shopping and are planning on hitting up the Memorial Day sales at the mall this weekend I can't wait!

Feeling Crafty

I am dying to make this granny square blanket! I love the mix of regular squares and flower squares. And the colors! So cute.

This Stitch Block Cowl is so cute, but I've never knit in the row below, so we'll see how it goes!

Who wouldn't want a sequined meow sweatshirt? I totally have to make one ASAP.

These free printable notecards would be fun to send my friends!

Who knew you could take plastic animals and make an animal ring holder

Speaking of plastic animals…you can also make super cute animal mason jars. They look so fun!

As obsessed as I am with Instagram, I have to make this Instagram Crochet

And these Instagram Photosripts. How have I not tried these out before?

I have been obsessing with these macaron purses ever since I saw them. I'd probably mess them up if I ever attempted to make them, but a girl can dream...

These kitchen canvases would be so cute to decorate my apartment!

I know they sell these, but I never thought to make my own little library to wear!

[Instagram] Summer at Last

It hasn't even bee summer break for a week yet and I've already been having the best summer yet.

-First thing I did when I got home was go to the library and pick up some YA books that have come out and I haven't had the chance to read yet. I can't way to finally read them!
-After giving up chocolate for Lent and having to put my girl scout cookies away until Easter, I completely forgot about them until I moved out of my apartment. I finally opened up the box and at them up.
-I made some macaroons with my sister and they turned out so good. I made them purple with green frosting and they're a huge hit with my family!
-My sister and I just discovered Nordstrom Rack and it's amazing. I got a pair of Sperry's for only $33! I can't wait to go back!

-My new Voxbox came and this one is definitely the best one I've ever gotten. It's sports themed, which is perfect for me! Keep your eye out for a post about it!
-I celebrated the end of finals with a delicious Orange Mango smoothie from Starbucks.
-My family has been trying out a new pizza place every Friday and we tried out Carlucci's this past Friday. We got a White Pizza and Stromboli to share and it was delicious. Definitley my favorite place we've tried so far!
-My puppy has, as always, been so adorable every single time I look at her. I can't wait to spend the next three months with that cutie!

2. I need these Meow Loafers in my life right now!

3. I can never have too many superhero clothing, and this Iron Man Muscle Tee needs to belong to my collection.

4. You'd think I'd be over satchels by now, seeing as I've been in love with them well before I got my first one almost a year ago, but Runaround Faux Leather Satchel is just too cute!

5. I just received some spoon rings I ordered from charmparfait and they're absolutely gorgeous! Now I'm dying for more! This Floral Silver Spoon Ring would definitely be my next purchase.

Polish Pottery Mother's Day Weekend

On the Sunday before Mother's Day, my sister, mom, and I went on a Polish Pottery adventure around Northern Ohio. My mom and dad had been to a couple of Polish Pottery stores before around Amish Country and my sister and I were so jealous of how gorgeous the mugs they brought home were. My sister had to go to Kent for a doctor's appointment last weekend, so my mom and I tagged along and we all visited three Polish Pottery shops. The first shop was very tiny and a little disappointing, but my mom got a mug while my sister and I decided to wait for the other shops to choose our pottery.

Store number two was the motherload of Polish Potter. Simply called "Polish Pottery," this store had 20% off the list price of every item in their store, and there was a lot to explore! We were pretty intimidated when we first walked in the door, but it didn't take long for us to explore everything and grow giddy over the possibilities…

Just look at how gorgeous everything is! My sister and I were so overwhelmed and had no idea where to start. We spent a good hour looking at everything and deciding exactly what we wanted to get, which was pretty hard to do with so many choices. Not only was everything in the store on sale for 20% off, but they also had a clearance section full of beautiful pieces. It was so hard to decide which pattern I wanted, but I finally settled on two different mugs.

Aren't they beautiful? The mug on the left is a bubble mug and it was on sale for $27. Then, the mug on the right was a clearance mug for only $9.50. I am beyond excited for the chance to use my new, gorgeous mugs. I can't wait to go on another Polish Pottery adventure with my family and hopefully visit "Polish Pottery" again to add even more pieces to my collection.

These are the beauties my mom and I walked away with on Saturday! My mom got two mugs for herself, a crock that was on clearance for only $19, and a spoon rest. My sister also got a really pretty mug and a dessert cup that was also on clearance for only $9.50. Overall, it was a pretty amazing day! We had stopped for lunch at a place called Zoup!, which is kind of like Panera, and it was delicious! We had some soup and sandwiches before moving onto our last shop of the day. We also stopped at a couple of quilt shops in Amish Country for our mom and headed home. Overall, it was a great day spent with two of my favorite people.

May Wishlist

As a college student, May means that it's finally summer! And I have had my eye on a ton of things that I'd love to celebrate summer with. First on the list? Keds! For work, I have to wear closed-toe shoes and Keds are my go to footwear. They're so cute and comfortable! And I am absolutely in love with Taylor Swift''s collection. They're so colorful and perfect for summer. I already own a pair of turquoise polkadot Keds, but I'd love to add more to my collection.

As you can tell, I absolutely love florals and light pink. I saw the floral cross body bag at JC Penny's and fell in love! Unfortunately, it was pretty much the only brand of purse not on sale that day, so I decided to wait and see if it goes on sale before I give in and finally buy it. Isn't it just perfect for summer?

As always, a coupe of Modcloth dresses made it onto my list. Hopefully, if I save up money this summer, I won't feel as bad splurging on a dress. I don't think I've spent more than $30 on a dress before, but if I end up splurging on a dress then it's definitely going to be on a Modcloth dress! They're just too pretty not to want. The hardest part would be trying to decide which one dress I would pick out of all of the beautiful dresses that I'm in love with. Decisions, decisions….

Summer 2014 Bucket List

Now that it's finally summer, I have a ton of stuff that I would like to accomplish over the next three months. All with my sister, hopefully! After being separated all semester, it's always great to be reunited with a long summer ahead of us. She's my best friend and it's always fun going on adventures and trying out new things together. I can't wait!

I'm most excited to attempt the Dozen Donut Crawl in Columbus. Donuts are pretty much my favorite and I always get excited when we pass by a Krispy Kreme, especially when the hot light is on. While eating 12 donuts in one day seems a little daunting, I am totally up for the challenge.

I have been working on crocheting the same chevron blanket for months and I just want it done already! I love it, but there's only so much time I can spend crocheting the same pattern over and over again before I go crazy. I found the most adorable granny square blanket that I want to try out making next, but I am not letting myself start any new projects until this current blanket is done. Hopefully I can get a lot of work done while watching the old Star Wars movies and finally finishing up Gossip Girl on Netflix! It looks like it's going to be a very good summer :)

[Instagram] Life Lately

-All of my Easter candy is officially gone! I saved my delicious chocolate monkey from Anthony Thomas for last.
-I made some caramel apple cupcakes for my very last film studies film viewing and they were so good. Who knew Pillsbury boxed cupcake mix and frosting could be so good? They really tasted like caramel apples!
-My mom made me the cutest little quilt of a cat sleeping on quilts. I hung it up in my room ASAP.
-Spring means the most beautiful flowers have bloomed all over campus. I get to walk past these beauties everyday. Moments like those remind me why I love Miami.

-So many books waiting for me at home, as always. I'm so excited because I got some books by some of my favorite authors! I can't wait to dig into those.
-Three Words: Frappuccino Happy Hour.
-My dad got me, my sister, and my mom awesome Disney workout shirts from Active Apparel and I am obsessed with my Mulan shirt. I wore it to my last day of classes and it was a hit!
-As always, this little cutie was excited to see me when I came home. I can't wait to spend the entire summer with her once exams are finally over on Tuesday! I can't wait :)

Cap City Half Marathon 2014

I ran my second ever half marathon this morning and it was an absolute blast! Oh my gosh, I was so nervous going into it. I have been training so hard for the past 5 months and was determined to finish under 2 hours. I ran my first half marathon two years ago and finished just over 2 hours. Since I've become a pretty serious runner since then, I knew I could beat that time. Little did I know, I would blow that time out of the water…

I ran the half marathon with my sister, mom, brother, and brother's fiancĂ© (Yes, my sister and I are matching. What can I say, we're twins! It's in our nature!). We all ran separately, but we've been cheering each other on as we've trained for the past five months. Then, when I was there, I saw a ton of people I knew from the Columbus area, which made running so much more fun. Like always, though, I was about ready to keel over around mile 11. It didn't help that the course proceeded to have a steady incline for the next mile and a half. But I did it! And my total time was….1:45! That's right! I ran 13.1 miles in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Did that really happen? Is this real life? Haha, I am so proud of myself for going way faster than my goal time and dominating that race!

It was crazy how many people ran the race. There were over 8,000 of us and it was great being a part of something with so many people. We were all running and pushing ourselves way past our limits, and it was really inspiring. No matter how tired I was, I knew I couldn't stop with all of these people running right along with me. While I absolutely hated myself for putting my body through that as I was running, it was so rewarding in the end. Running has made me such a healthier person and I couldn't imagine my life without out it now. I can't wait to run my next half marathon!
