6) I LOVE staying organized, so this is a super cute way to list your to-do list for the week!

7) I want to color my hair! Maybe sometime this summer?

8) I love the colors! When I have my own apartment/house, there's definitely going to be color everywhere :)

9) Haha, Sesame Street fruit and veggie trays? How cute!!!

10) I need to buy some of these! I've been baking so much lately, and these frosting tips make adorable cupcakes!

To-Do List: #56

#56: Sew a Skirt

Today, I finished sewing my very first skirt! And I must say, I am IN LOVE with it! Here's a picture of the completed project :)

Isn't it adorable?? I love the polka dot pattern and it's my first red skirt that I own! It took a lot of work because I kept on messing up and having to resew parts, but it was totally worth it in the end! I just followed the directions from My Growing Home and they were pretty easy to follow! You know what my favorite part of the skirt is, though? The pockets!

I chose a blue floral pattern with some red flowers as the pockets and I can't stoop looking at it! I think it looks perfect with the red, so I'm so happy with how it turned out! This entire skirt was about $7 to make, which is awesome. I'm definitely making more skirts in the future!

Once I make some more (I bought enough fabric to make two more) I will definitely post them so you all can see! I love being able to make my own clothes :) Have any of you made your own clothes? I'd love to hear about it!

In My Bag

I thought I'd share with your guys what I've been carrying around in my bag! I switch purses SO many times, so I've been carrying this one for about three days and am thinking of switching it up again...haha I can never use the same bag for too long! But here's what's in this one :)

1. I've had this bag for a while now, so I don't even remember where I got it. What I love about it, though, is  the bright blue inside! Nothing like a little color to brighten my day!

2. I made a duct tape wallet and gift-card holder and they're both awesome! They've lasted for so long and are in awesome condition. And aren't they adorable??

3. My mirror...I've got to make sure I always look gorgeous :)

4. My coin purse! I love the floral print!

5. I'm obsessed with staying organized, so my monthly calendar is a must in my purse!

6. A notebook for writing down anything while I'm out.

7. Gum!!! I ALWAYS need some gum to chew!

8. My Bath & Body Works lip gloss

9. Yes, I do have that many pens. I didn't even realize it until I took them all out!

10. The best part: My Nook! I always have a book with me and today I happened to be reading one on my Nook. And, of course, the case is pink :)

11. I have a slight obsession with lotion, so it's always in my bag! I LOVE the scent Carried Away from Bath & Body Works!

And that's it! Hope you enjoyed a peak into my bag :)

Kitchen Krazy: Chocolate Cupcakes with Peanut Butter frosting

I have been in such a baking mood lately, so today I made cupcakes with my sister and they are AMAZING!!

Here are all of the ingredients I used for the chocolate cupcakes! I used the recipe from allrecipes.com and they were super easy to make!

Then, it was time to whip up the Peanut Butter Frosting :)

I found the recipe for this frosting from allrecipes.com too, but I made sure to read the comments because they're always so helpful in tweaking the recipe. I ended up using 1 1/2 cups of peanut butter instead of only 1 cup and I used only 2 cups of sugar instead of 4. It turned out soooo yummy and I had to make sure I didn't eat all of the frosting before I put it on the cupcakes!

Don't they look yummy?? I'm so excited to eat them for the rest of the week :) Oh, and my dog got VERY excited when the peanut butter jar was empty because that meant she got a little treat too :)

I can't wait to make these again! In the mean time, I'll be enjoying my nice, peanut buttery cupcakes! If you guys have any cupcake recipes you love to make, please share! I love finding new recipes to bake :) Hope you have a lovely day!

Friday's Favorites

Oh my gosh, this week went by so fast! And it's Friday again! I've officially been on summer break for an entire week! Yay! Here's what's been catching my eye this week :)

1. Gahh I've been seeing kitties all over the internet and my heart just melted when I saw this one!

2) I SO wish my life were like an 80s movie. I just read a book where the guy reenacted the scene from 16 Candles where the car drives away and he's leaning against his car when the girl comes out from the wedding...yeah I sighed form how sweet it was.

3) Pandas are my favorite! Who knew drawing them could be so easy??

4) I love this idea of using old maps to cut into hearts and frame! It's so cute!

5) I'm loving stripes right now, and I think the added anchor necklace is just adorable.

6) I love these colors! So perfect for spring/summer!

7) It's a cake of the house from Up!

8) All the caption on Pinterest said was "Rainbow Jar Cakes." Can you say yummy???

9) The Avengers was one of the best movies I've ever seen and these little caricatures are ADORABLE!

10) Raspberry Lemonade Slushy. Honestly the perfect drink for summer <3

Singing in the Rain

I woke up this morning to find that it was raining outside. At first, I was sad my day was starting out so gloomy, but then I realized...I get to where my rain boots! Nothing like a cute pair of boots to brighten up a dull, wet, dreary day.

The pink polka dots make me smile every time I see them! I like to jump around in the puddles just because I can :) Here are a few other boots I found online that can brighten up ANY rainy day!

They may be cliche, but nothing brightens up a day more than these yellow rain boots from Target! The best part? They're on sale for only $8.74!

As you probably guessed, I LOVE polka dots. These boots come in red, black, or green with white polka dots! They're from DSW for $44.95!

I'm sorry, I just HAD to add an animal print boot. I saw these everywhere around campus whenever it rained and couldn't help but drool over how awesome they were. These ones are from Walmart for $24.00!

Ahhhh aren't they adorable? These tulip rain boots are absolutely perfect for springtime. They're only $26.97 from 6pm.com!

And that's all I have to share with you! Hopefully you guys all have a pair of boots you can turn to on a rainy day. And if not, what are you waiting for? Get out there and get a pair that are bound to make you smile :)
