Weekend Plans [10/10-10/12]

Happy weekend, everyone! I don't know about you, but I have some big plans to catch up on a lot of things on my to-do list this weekend. There just seems to be no time to relax during the week with all of my classes, homework, and extracurricular meetings. I could definitely use some quiet time to make a dent in my long to-do list...

Attend Books by the Banks
I am beyond excited to attend Books by the Banks this year, which is a huge event where tons of authors of many genres come to meet readers and promote their books. This year, the big author coming is Emily Giffin, author of Something Borrowed. I am in love with her writing and could not be more thrilled for the chance to meet her. Some of my other favorite YA authors will be at the convention too, so it's definitely going to be an exciting day.

Read more books
I have so many books I have to read for review, so I'm definitely taking any down time I have to catch up on that looming stack that seems to grow bigger and bigger every day…

Crochet baby blankets
My cousin is expecting twins (yay!) and her baby shower is the second weekend of November. I want to maker her a baby blanket for each baby, so I definitely have to get working on that project if I hope to have it done in time for the shower.

Say goodbye to my adorable iPhone 4 cases
By this time next week I should have the new iPhone 6 in my hands, which means all of my adorable iPhone 4 cases will be of no use to me anymore. While I'm excited to have my first upgrade in four years, I am so sad because I have collected some super cute phone cases, so I'm trying to use them all before I have to say goodbye!

Drink hot chocolate
Since the weather feels deliciously like fall, there's no better way to stay warm than by drinking some hot chocolate with peppermint creamer! Yummmm.

Binge watch The Vampire Diaries
I own seasons one and two of The Vampire Diaries and haven't watched that show in forever. I saw a lot of hype online about season six starting up on tv, so I decided to start the series over and try to catch up to the current season. I'm on the last disc of season one and hope to make some leeway into season two before the weekend is over!

[Instagram] Books, Books, and More Books...

Over the past week, I have accumulated quite the amount of books. Despite the fact that I already own almost 1,000 books already (how did that happen??), I just can't seem to stay away from book sales. Half Price Books was having a warehouse sale where everything was $2 or less. Of course, I went on the first day right when they opened and found a glorious amount of books that I just couldn't live without. I didn't even spend that much money! I walked out of there with 14 books for myself for only $9. I got another 6 for my mom for only $3. How could I pass up on a deal like that? I also couldn't resist finally buying Isla and the Happily Ever After from The Book Depository. I have been dying to read the book and after seeing it posted on so many book blogs and Instagram accounts, I finally gave in and ordered myself a copy. It's finally in my hands and I can't wait to start it!

Aside from my exciting trip to the Half Price Books Warehouse sale and receiving my book mail, I spent the weekend watching some Outlander and running a 10k. The 10k was hosted by Panera, which means that there were some delicious Panera bagels, sandwiches, and cookies at the end, which I ended up devouring. I finished the 6.2 mile race in only 47 minutes (an average of a 7:30 min/mile pace), coming in second place in my age group (by one minute. So close, yet so far…). I was beyond happy with my time and couldn't have been happier with my cinnamon crunch bagel at the finish line. As for Outlander, how steamy was The Wedding episode? I mean, I already love Jamie, but now? Totally swooning over him. I already want to watch that episode again…

It was definitely a busy, yet incredible weekend. With books and running, what was there not to love?

Weekend Plans [8/29-8/31]

Wow, what a week. I'm always excited for the first week back at school, but I tend to forget what always comes with that: Homework. I've been back for five days and I already have a ton of reading and writing to do. Good thing I'm in a major I love because my classes really aren't that bad, so the homework is interesting, just time consuming. Thankfully, though, I have a nice four day weekend ahead of me to work on my classwork while still having some fun of my own. And by fun I mean crocheting, watching movies, and reading some books.

Plan My Life My brother and his fiancĂ© bought me and my sister Lily Pultzer planners for our birthday and I am in love. My entire life is in this planner and I am obsessed with writing down every little detail of my life in it. And just look at how cute it is! How could I not love it?

Read The Virgin Suicides One of the classes I was most excited to begin is my class on contemporary fiction. I've known what books we were going to read this semester for about a month, which made me even more excited for the class. The first book we're reading is The Virgin Suicides and I absolutely love that book (I read it last year on my own). I can't wait to see how our discussion goes on Wednesday.

Crochet a Granny Square Blanket After finally finishing my chevron afghan, my sister told me she wanted a blanket too. Being the amazing sister that I am, I told her if she gave me the yarn and the pattern, I'd make her the blanket. I've only finished four squares, but I'm already in love with the colors she's chosen. It's going to be so hard to part with this blanket when I'm done.

Write to My Sister Going back to school is always hard because that means being 4 hours away from my sister. We were used to being together 24/7 during the summer, so it always feels a bit lonely when we head our separate ways to school. I love to writer her letters to remind her how much I miss her and love her.

Plan Jane Austen Book Club This past Wednesday, my school's Mega Fair took place and I had a table for both my knitting club and my book club to recruit Freshman to join. Next week are our information meetings and I hope people come! We get to plan our semester of knitting and reading and I couldn't be more excited to meet new people who love those two hobbies as much as I do.

Watch Movies Of course, as soon as I moved into my apartment I had to stop by the local library. I picked up about 6 movies to watch this weekend and An American In Paris was one of them. After seeing Sunday In New York, I've had this itch to watch other old movies. Hopefully it's a good one!

As my first full weekend as a college senior, I think I've got enough to keep me occupied until Tuesday!

[Instagram] Simply Summer

-If it isn't obvious already, my sister and I are obsessed with Krispy Kreme. So when their new batter donuts were released, we knew we had to try them. We each got a cake batter and a brownie batter donut. The brownie batter was definitely the best!
-I started work on Tuesday and I absolutely love it! Little kids are so adorable and I get to work with them all morning/night long :) My favorite part is definitely being able to color some Frozen pictures with them.
-Rosie is not feeling this heat. Haha, she loves to hang out either in or kennel or on top of the vents for the air conditioning.
-So much reading now that it's summer! I love it!
-With summer comes my crafting bug, and I finally did a mason jar craft! I decided to paint the inside of some jars, so make sure to look out for a post detailing that craft soon!
-For Memorial Day, we made a brownie fruit pizza that turned out to be the perfect dessert to our cookout.
-My sister, mom, and I went to the Memorial Day parade in our town on Monday morning to watch our dad drive a veteran in his Corvette. The only downside? No one gives 20 year olds candy :(
-Half Price Books was having a 20% off sale for Memorial Day! You bet I went and scoped out the sale.
-I rode in a Memorial Day parade on Saturday with my dad and it was a lot of fun! Great bonding time and I even got some delicious cinnamon chip pancakes from Bob Evans for breakfast :)

[Instagram] Summer at Last

It hasn't even bee summer break for a week yet and I've already been having the best summer yet.

-First thing I did when I got home was go to the library and pick up some YA books that have come out and I haven't had the chance to read yet. I can't way to finally read them!
-After giving up chocolate for Lent and having to put my girl scout cookies away until Easter, I completely forgot about them until I moved out of my apartment. I finally opened up the box and at them up.
-I made some macaroons with my sister and they turned out so good. I made them purple with green frosting and they're a huge hit with my family!
-My sister and I just discovered Nordstrom Rack and it's amazing. I got a pair of Sperry's for only $33! I can't wait to go back!

-My new Voxbox came and this one is definitely the best one I've ever gotten. It's sports themed, which is perfect for me! Keep your eye out for a post about it!
-I celebrated the end of finals with a delicious Orange Mango smoothie from Starbucks.
-My family has been trying out a new pizza place every Friday and we tried out Carlucci's this past Friday. We got a White Pizza and Stromboli to share and it was delicious. Definitley my favorite place we've tried so far!
-My puppy has, as always, been so adorable every single time I look at her. I can't wait to spend the next three months with that cutie!

Polish Pottery Mother's Day Weekend

On the Sunday before Mother's Day, my sister, mom, and I went on a Polish Pottery adventure around Northern Ohio. My mom and dad had been to a couple of Polish Pottery stores before around Amish Country and my sister and I were so jealous of how gorgeous the mugs they brought home were. My sister had to go to Kent for a doctor's appointment last weekend, so my mom and I tagged along and we all visited three Polish Pottery shops. The first shop was very tiny and a little disappointing, but my mom got a mug while my sister and I decided to wait for the other shops to choose our pottery.

Store number two was the motherload of Polish Potter. Simply called "Polish Pottery," this store had 20% off the list price of every item in their store, and there was a lot to explore! We were pretty intimidated when we first walked in the door, but it didn't take long for us to explore everything and grow giddy over the possibilities…

Just look at how gorgeous everything is! My sister and I were so overwhelmed and had no idea where to start. We spent a good hour looking at everything and deciding exactly what we wanted to get, which was pretty hard to do with so many choices. Not only was everything in the store on sale for 20% off, but they also had a clearance section full of beautiful pieces. It was so hard to decide which pattern I wanted, but I finally settled on two different mugs.

Aren't they beautiful? The mug on the left is a bubble mug and it was on sale for $27. Then, the mug on the right was a clearance mug for only $9.50. I am beyond excited for the chance to use my new, gorgeous mugs. I can't wait to go on another Polish Pottery adventure with my family and hopefully visit "Polish Pottery" again to add even more pieces to my collection.

These are the beauties my mom and I walked away with on Saturday! My mom got two mugs for herself, a crock that was on clearance for only $19, and a spoon rest. My sister also got a really pretty mug and a dessert cup that was also on clearance for only $9.50. Overall, it was a pretty amazing day! We had stopped for lunch at a place called Zoup!, which is kind of like Panera, and it was delicious! We had some soup and sandwiches before moving onto our last shop of the day. We also stopped at a couple of quilt shops in Amish Country for our mom and headed home. Overall, it was a great day spent with two of my favorite people.

[Instagram] Spring Break Has Come and Gone...

-My sister took her STNA test over Spring Break and passed! Now, she can work as a nursing aide this summer! I'm so proud of that girl. Doesn't she look so cute in her scrubs?
-More snuggle time with Rosie! I think this past week has been the most time I've ever spent with her. Normally, she just lays on the floor or upstairs by the window. I guess she just missed me so much that she had to lay on top of me for hours :)
-Yes, more of my puppy. How could I not want to capture that gorgeous face?
-Rosie has been scratching herself a lot, so my mom had to get new medicine for her that made her stop itching, but also made her so sleepy! The first day she was on it, she slept through the entire morning and didn't come out of her kennel to see us until around lunch time.

-On Saturday, my sister and I stopped by Gigi's Cupcakes to surprise our parents. We got Red Velvet, Wedding Cake, Midnight Magic, and Carrot Cake. The cakes were okay, but the frostings were so good. I could eat a whole bucket of those frostings…
-My sister and I were in charge of dinner each night, so one night we made Italian Wedding Soup! Yum!
-We also made some Broccoli Cheddar Soup for lunch one day. Mmmm, we made some pretty darn good food this past week!
-After my sister took her STNA test, she picked up some Five Guys to celebrate. I got the little burger and we split the large fry three ways (with my dad)…it was still so much food! But oh so good.

-While I was home, I had a huge urge to watch Grease 2, but I had left my copy at school! So the first thing I did when I got back to my apartment yesterday was pop in the DVD and rock out to the songs while I unpacked.
-So many pretty dresses! I brought some more dresses back to school and I can't wait for the weather to finally warm up so I can start to wear them! I bought the black and white striped one from Target on Saturday and am already obsessed with it. I can't wait to wear it!
-See how excited I was to run 11 miles? Haha, I got up earlier on Saturday to knock out those 11 miles and ended up running it in 95 minutes. Half marathon, here I come!
-My sister and I decided to watch Armageddon together while we were home. We had seen it a ton as little kids, but we barely remembered it! So we spent Wednesday afternoon watching Bruce Willis pretending to be the father of the woman he was actually dating in real life...

[Instagram] Sweet Spring Break

Happy Spring Break everyone! The beginning of my Spring Break was pretty darn good. I never have big plans for break except for to hang out with my family and spend some time catching up on movies and reading. My sister and I saw Divergent on Saturday and I'm still obsessing over how awesome it was. That was definitely a great way to start out my break. We're planning on going to a couple more movies this week and I have a huge pile of books I'm hoping to get through. I recorded some of the highlights of me weekend on Instagram (as usual…).

-I made these to die for butterscotch pudding cookies with butterscotch chips. They turned out to have the perfect crunchy outside with a soft, pillowy inside. Mmmm time to grab another one…
-Vera Bradley was having a sale with 60% some of their colors, so my sister and I both got a large laptop tote. I, of course, had to go with the pink pattern :)
-To celebrate my 10 mile run Saturday morning, my sister and I grabbed some Krispy Kreme before seeing Divergent. The maple iced creme filled donut was so good. Oh, and the store was packed with little kids! I guess Krispy Kreme is the place to go on a Saturday morning.
-We've been letting Rosie up on the couch and she has become quite the cuddler. She'll get up on the couch and scoot over until she's basically in my lap, then plop down on it, even if I have my computer or book with me. What a cutie.
-We got some Sweetart jelly beans…again. And finished them in two days…
-My gold card came from Starbucks! Woo hoo! I can't wait to start using it.
-We also got Fruit Loops with marshmallows from the store. Marshmallows are definitely a great way to start out a day.
-We also stopped for ice cream at Handel's yesterday after we went shopping with our mom. Banana Cream Pie is delicious!
-More cuddle time for my puppy…but with my sister this time! We definitely fight over whose turn it is to cuddle with the puppy.

Literally not even 10 minutes ago Rosie was sprawled out across my stomach, snoring away while I was watching TV with my dad. I was literally sitting cross legged on the couch blogging with my computer in my lap when she decided to nudge her way in. I had to put my computer down and give into her cuteness. Haha, when she wants to cuddle, she'll cuddle. I see a lot more quality time being spent with that little girl for the rest of my break...

Purple Yarn and Confetti Stationary

It's finally the weekend! Well, for me it is. The best thing about college? Being able to have no classes on Fridays. So while I have a pretty full Monday and Tuesday (I have classes until 9pm both nights), my weekend can officially start at 2:20pm Thursday afternoon. I love having three days to relax and catch up on homework, blog work, and my reading list. I can't wait for the chance to get things done this weekend. Here's what I have planned...

-Continuing to journal. I've made an effort to journal more when 2014 started, and I have definitely kept up with that goal. I love being able to begin the day recording what's happening in my life and what crazy thoughts are floating through my head.

-I get to start off my Friday with a 10 mile run! This week is the 10 mile week for my half-marathon training, so I mapped out a 10 mile route on Map My Run and it is so long. My 9 mile run last week went really well, though, so hopefully it's not too bad!

-I got this purple yarn on sale over Winter Break at my favorite yarn shop Knitting Temptations. My mom and I got to attend the signing of Michelle Hunter from Knit Purl Hunter, so of course we had to buy some yarn while we were there. I think the color is so adorable and I can't wait to find a pattern to use it with.

-My nail polish is so chipped right now, so painting my nails is a definite must this weekend. I'm loving pastel colors right now, but I'm still debating between a pastel purple or a mint green polish for this week…

-Of course, I'll definitely be reading this weekend! I'm finishing a great book right now called Some Like it Wild by M Leighton and only have about 40 pages left. After that, I can't wait to dig into Deeper by Robin York. Just look at how gorgeous that cover is!

-I love writing letters and sending them through the mail. I bought a ton of the $1 stationary packs from Target that are just adorable. I'm planning on writing some letters to my sister and anyone else who comes to mind. There's just something about a handwritten note that is so magical…

That's my weekend! Some writing, reading, knitting, and lots of running. Maybe I'll finally treat myself to a Shamrock Shake after running my 10 miles…that'll definitely motivate me to run a bit faster. I hope you all have a fantastic Friday and great start to your weekend!

Date Night Movies and Summer Bucket Lists

Being the weekend before finals week, I should be studying, right? Ha, no thanks. I only have two finals, one on Tuesday and one on Wednesday, and I've already got at least the first draft of the three essays I have to write done. So this weekend is definitely going to be spent relaxing and savoring the last days with my friends before going back home for the summer. Look at me being so efficient with my schoolwork :) Haha, that's pretty much a necessity for me so that I don't stress out too much! Here's what I hope to do this weekend...

-Read my books. So much reading to do! Being Me is the second one in its series and it's so good so far.

-Plan my summer bucket list. I've decided me and my sister are going to create a bucket list this summer so I hope to come up with some fun ideas to do together.

-Have a date night with my movies. I won this at an event on campus and I am so excited to watch these movies! I've seen all of them (of course, they're chick flicks. What did you expect?), but I'm thinking I could use a little J-Lo time with The Backup Plan because I adore that movie!

-Do more crafts. Crafts keep me busy and help the time pass, so hopefully I can find a fun knitting or crocheting pattern to do this weekend.

-Write in my journal. So much is going on that I have barely had time to write in my journal. It makes me so sad! I'm definitely planning on spending some quality time with just me and the blank pages of my notebook.

That's my weekend! It's the perfect way to stay calm during such a hectic time of college. Are you guys doing anything fun this weekend?

Dum Dums and Dorian Gray

The end of school is so close and I just want it here and gone already! With exams and final papers looming, you can say I can't wait to be able to breath when it's all over. Hopefully I can take this weekend to relax before buckling down next weekend to get everything done. Here's what I hope to do to keep calm and survive the end!

-Read The Picture of Dorian Gray. I have to read this book for class, but it's I'm actually really enjoying it. It's definitely not what I thought it would be like and I'm really excited to see how it's going to end.

-Drink tea from my owl mug. I have so much tea in my room and I want to try to drink it up before school ends. Good thing I have my adorable owl mug from my mom to drink it in :)

-Knit fun socks. I am having so much fun making these pink and blue socks. I don't think I've ever knitted something holding two strands of yarn together, but I have to say I love the look. I can't wait to see how they turn out in the end.

-Make scones. Again, this is something that I have in my room that I hope to get rid of by move out time. And by get rid of I mean bake and eat. Haha, hopefully they turn out as yummy as they sound.

-Eat dum dums. When my parents visited last week, my dad brought me diet coke, dum dums, and chocolate. Yeah, he knows me pretty well! Eating these delicious candies will definitely make me one happy girl this weekend.

That's it! Simple, yet very relaxing. Do you guys have anything fun to do this weekend?

Baby Hats and Mint Lip Balm

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a lovely Saturday morning because I sure am. I got up and ran 6 miles and now I'm waiting for my parents to come to take me out for a day of shopping! I've been waiting for this day to come for so long now because I haven't seen my parents in so long (okay, it's been like three weeks, but that's long to me). During the down time I have this weekend, here's what else I'll be up to...

-I'll be reading this adorable book by Debbie Macomber I got for review. I realized that it actually has some knitting in it and the main character likes to hang out at a knitting shop, so I know it's definitely my kind of read.

-I have to read The Picture of Dorian Gray for an English Lit class and I'm so excited! I've heard great things about Oscar Wilde, so I can't wait to get into that one.

-I got another flavor of EOS lip balm and I'm obsessed. This mint flavor is by far my favorite.

-My days until London are slowly dwindling and I get more nervous/excited as each day passes. Only 29 more days :)

-I started knitting this adorable cabled baby hat and I cannot get over how tiny and cute it is. I'm going to do a post about it later this week, so make sure to keep your eye out for that.

Good books, new lip balm, and knitting....I don't know how my weekend could get any better :) I hope you all have a great weekend as well!

Journal Embroidery and Cotton Candy Yarn

This weekend is one of the first weekends I don't have something taking up all of my time and I am so relieved. Don't get me wrong, I do like to keep buys, but sometimes there are moments I just want to sit on the couch all day and watch TV. I have some very relaxing plans for the next two days.

-Read The Mapmaker's War. This book sounded really interesting, so I can't wait for the chance to get into it.

-Obsess over London. Yup, my London orientation is tonight! I am going to do some serious planning this weekend and figure out all of the places I want to see during the six weeks I'm there.

-Continue journal embroidery. I started to do some journal embroidery like Meredith does at One Sheepish Girl and it's so much fun!

-Knit with Cotton Candy yarn. Doesn't that yarn remind you of the yummy, sugary treat? Haha, it makes me want summertime and carnivals. I'm hoping to do something fun with it this weekend.

-Read Blue Boy. It's that amazing blue color again! I have to read this book for my Asian American Lit class and it's actually written by the son of a professor here, so I'm really excited to read it. Not to mention the colors put me in a good mood :)

And then I'm going to watch TV, read some more, and maybe watch TV again. It's so nice knowing I have the whole weekend to do whatever I want. It's going to be so nice! Do any of you have any fun weekend plans?

Owl Dishes and Spring Nail Polish

Have you guys looked outside recently? It's actually starting to look like spring! With the sunshine and warm weather, my mood has lifted 110% and I'm just a happy girl. I participated in a 24-hour scavenger hunt this weekend and it was intense yet totally awesome and I had a blast. I slept a glorius 12 hours last night, but it's time to get some work done this weekend.

-I have been trying really hard to journal more frequently, but I only get to write about once a week. I plan on writing some today!

-My absolutely amazing sister surprised me when I went home with this super cute owl dish. I am so in love with him! He currently holds all of my bobby pins on my desk :)

-I am in desperate need to paint my nails. Nothing like pastel pink to bring out my spring mood.

-I am reading this awesome book right now called While We Were Watching Downton Abbey. It's so cute!

-Walgreens had a one-day special where you got 25 prints for free! I'm in charge of senior gifts for Quidditch, so I printed some pictures for them, then added some in for me. I love having hard copy of pictures of my favorite memories.

-I am so close to finishing the chevron afghan. Hopefully I can get work done on it today!

-More owls! Michael's has a bajillion owl things in their dollar section and I found this adorable notebook that I just couldn't pass up. You can never have too many owls or notebooks!

That's it for me! I'll be soaking up the warm spring sun while just enjoying my life :) Do you guys have anything fun planned today?

Chocolate Kitties and Starburst Jelly Beans

Holidays are my favorite times of the, but for some reason I was even more excited for Easter to come. There's just something about having the whole family together and celebrating with a ton of candy that makes me so happy. Not to mention I got to see my sister again for the first time in four weeks. I was so happy to finally be home and I absolutely couldn't wait to see what goodies the Easter Bunny was going to bring me this year. Needless to say, I had a fantastic weekend with the family and I couldn't have asked for a better Easter...

-My sister had decorated the house right before I came home on Thursday because it was her spring break, so the house was nice and festive when I walked through the door. That means pastel colored easter eggs, stuffed bunnies/ducks, and anything else Easter related was everywhere!
-Rosie was so adorable and SO SOFT. Seriously, I didn't remember her being so soft, but she was and I couldn't keep my hands off of her for the entire weekend.
-On Friday, me and my sister were quite the bakers and made chocolate chip banana bread, healthy wheat chocolate chip cookies, and a healthified strawberry pie as our Easter dessert. We had so much fun baking and licking all of the bowls :)
-SO MUCH CANDY. Seriously, I was in chocolate heaven when Easter morning finally arrived. I even got a chocolate kitty along with a chocolate bunny. How adorable is that? I'm going to feel bad eating it, but at least it'll look cute as I'm enjoying some delicious chocolate.
-Don't even get me started on the jelly beans. I poured them into a mug last night to keep in my room and I can't stop munching on them every time I pass by (which is a lot considering my dorm room really isn't all that big). Why are they so addicting??

And that was my long Easter weekend. Oh, and I finally got to drink Diet Coke! I've been craving it pretty much from the first week that I had given it up for Lent, so it felt like little drops of heaven when I finally drank some after early mass on Sunday. It's so nice to have it back into my life. And the Game of Thrones season premiere last night was AWESOME. There was just so many amazing things all packed together yesterday that I couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday with my family. I'm so sad it's over, but the happiness has definitely carried over into today! I'm in such a good mood and I hope that lasts as I go back to class and reality.

I hope you all have a fantastic Monday!

Quidditch tournaments and pink yarn

Wow, it's getting some used to being back at school, so I couldn't be happier that it's the weekend. And I've got a busy one ahead of me! Here's what I've got planned...

-Quidditch Tournament That's right! I'm heading up to Michigan for a Quidditch tournament tomorrow and I'm so excited! It's not supposed to snow, so that's a plus. Hopefully it's not too cold though.

-Study Jane Austen I'm doing a huge project on Jane Austen for one of my English classes, so I have to read some autobiographies on her for research. I'm really excited to learn more about the life of one of my favorite authors.

-Read I've still got a huge stack of books I have to read, and the one I'm starting now looks really good.

-Knit I'm trying to use up some more yarn from the club that I've used for other projects, so I decided to start on a headband with this pink yarn. Hopefully it turns out cute!

-Paint nails My nails look so gross right now because I haven't painted them in over a week. I think some spring colors are definitely perfect for my mood right now. Maybe they'll help the spring weather move into Ohio...

That's all that's going on with me! It's quite a busy weekend, but I am look forward to it. I really hope the team does well at our tournament. I love being able to spend the weekend with the team and bond, so it should be fun. What do you guys have planned this weekend? Anything fun?

English Papers and New Knitting Projects

Oh how I love the weekends. I had an absolutely lovely time yesterday baking chocolate chip cookies and watching Bridget Jones' Diary with my friends. My team ended up losing to OSU at the hockey game last night, which bummed me out, but I still had a ton of fun hanging out with friends and watching the game. And I still have two full days of the weekend ahead of me! Here's what I hope to do...

-Read I got this book in the mail about a girl living in the early 1920s, which is a time period that I'm so in love with thanks to Downton Abbey. It's really good so far and I can't wait to see where it goes.
-Plan With spring break next week and London quickly approaching, I have so many things to plan! Where does the time go?
-Watch movies For my book club, we had to read the first half of Pride and Prejudice and I am absolutely in love with it! Now, all I want to do is watch the movie over and over again.
-Write With midterms coming up, that means I've got some big papers to write! The one I'm working on now is all about the battle of the sexes in the novel Fantomina. It's actually a lot of fun to write, so hopefully it turns out okay.
-Knit I FINALLY finished the cowl I've been working on for the past three weeks, so now I get to start a new project! I'm really in love with this Lion Brand yarn I had bought over winter break. I can't wait to find a cute pattern to try it out on.

That's my weekend in a nutshell! Hopefully I can get as much done as I have planned. Do you guys have anything fun going on?

A Pie Movie and More Jane Austen

Hello everyone! How are you all doing today? I hope you've been enjoying your weekends! Mine was spent driving 5.5 hours to Tennessee to play a Quidditch tournament all day in the snow, then driving 5.5 miles back home. It was definitely an exhausting weekend, but we came in second in the tournament! We ended up winning 5 out of the 6 games we played, which has never happened before. Needless to say, it was definitely a good tournament for us. I'm just happy, though, to be back into the warmth of my dorm room.

Since I'll be holing up all day trying to thaw out from the freezing Saturday I spent outside, I've got a bunch of stuff I hope to get done...

-I found the movie Waitress at the library and it looked like a super cute movie. It's about a girl who wants to win a pie contest, and falls in love in the process. Doesn't that sound cute?
-I'm still making progress on crocheting my chevron afghan. Hopefully I can work on it some more while I watch the movie.
-I am reading Northanger Abbey for one of my English Lit classes and I'm really excited to get it started.
-I'm reading a fantastic historical romance that I seriously can't put down right now. Elizabeth Hoyt is definitely one of my new favorite authors now.
-I've been trying to keep up my new years resolution to write in my journal more often. I really want to make time to do that today.
-I don't know if it's from the cold or lack of sleep from this weekend, but my throat has been really bothering me. I'm planning on making a nice, big, hot cup of tea to make my throat feel better.

I know it's not much, but it's just what I need before starting on a long week of classes again. I hope you guys have a great Sunday as well!

Chocolate Cupcakes and an Audrey Hepburn Marathon

I have been waiting for today ALL WEEK and it's finally here! I have such fun plans that involve my favorite actress and my all time favorite food.

1. I'm having an Audrey Hepburn marathon! Two of my friends and I are getting together this afternoon to obsess over our favorite actress. So happy I got this Triple Feature for Christmas!

2. My first Jane Austen Book Club meeting is this Thursday (Valentine's Day...isn't it just so fitting?) and our first book is Persuasion. Hopefully I can finish it this weekend!

3. Along with the marathon, we're baking delicious chocolate cupcakes with adorable pink pearl sprinkles. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

4. I'm slowly making my way through this new scarf. I'm completely in love with the gold color, so I'm excited to be able to wear this one when it's finished. Hopefully I get some knitting time in while watching some Audrey!

And that's my fantstic plans for today! Doesn't it sound like so much fun? Well, I know I can't wait for the festivities to being :) I hope you all have a fantastic Friday as well.

King Kong and Squirrel Mugs

Do you know what day it is? That's right, it's Saturday! Which means that I have the day to get a lot of stuff done that I've been wanting to do all week. Who knew classes and homework could take up so much time? Here's what I hope to get done today...

1. Since it's been freezing lately, my little ears get so cold on the way to classes. Hopefully I can find a cute pattern to make a headband to keep them warm. I already tried a cabled headband and really didn't like how it turned out, so it's time for take two.

2. Hopefully, the first meeting for my Jane Austen Book Club will take place this week! I have to make up some flyers and spread the word so that people will come to the information session on Wednesday. I can't wait to start reading Jane's books and discussing them with fellow Austen lovers.

3. I got the original King Kong from the library and I'm super excited to watch it. I really enjoyed the new version with Jack Black and Naomi Watts, so I'm really intrigued to see how this one turns out.

4. I'm definitely going to get some use out of this squirrel mug my sister got me for Christmas. Nothing sounds better than a delicious warm cup of tea in this frigid weather.

5. I am OBSESSED with my new glasses. I seriously never want to wear my contacts again. haha, which will be kind of difficult to run...so maybe I'll just wear my glasses more often than I do now :) And I've been writing in my writer's notebook more and more. Who knew writing down everything you see in the world could be so much fun?

So that's what I'll be doing today! Then, I get to go to Columbus on Sunday and spend the day with my parents, which I am absolutely ecstatic about. Hope you guys have great weekends as well :)
