Wardrobe Wishlist: Feline Fantasy

It's been forever since I've done a wardrobe wish list, and I've missed it! I was so ready to style a dress from Modcloth, but this winter storm that just blew through our last two days of 70 degree weather and dropped the temperature to below 30 degrees yesterday completely dampened my spirits. I couldn't imagine wearing a dress in this weather! Haha, but I can definitely see myself curling up in a big, comfy sweater like this adorable cat one. Seriously, I live in sweaters during the winter.

And nothing is better than cat-themed clothing! My friend got a shirt from Walmart that is a collage of cat faces, and I was so jealous that I actually drove to Walmart later that week to get one. Little did I know, everyone else loves cats as much as I do, and Walmart was all out! I had even asked an employee to help me find them and she took me to the completely empty shelf. I guess I have to keep my eye out and react quicker when I hear about cat clothes through the grapevine.

Another wardrobe must for me during the winter are boots. Over the past year, I have collected three pairs of boots, two that cut just below the knee and one that cuts right above the ankle. Boots can dress up any outfit and they are so comfortable. I have a 15-20 walk to and from class, so comfortable shoes are a necessity in my life. I could live in my boots and be one happy camper. It doesn't look like it's going to warm back up to 70 degrees anytime soon, so it's back to sweaters and boots for me!

Wardrobe Wishlist: travel Time

Today I'm leaving London and heading back home to Ohio! That means I've got hours of travel time ahead of me and I know I'm going to want to be as comfortable as possible during my flight across the pond.

Though I am definitely not a frequent flyer, my trip to London taught me some pretty important things when it comes to a travel wardrobe. The first major thing I learned was bring a sweater! I would get hot and cold throughout the long flight to London and while waiting hours in the airport, so it was great to have a big, comfy sweater to be able to put on when I was cold and simply take off when I got too hot. And I love fun graphic tees, so of course I fell in love with the quirky little pug in glasses t-shirt from Modcloth.

Another thing I now know to make sure I have on flight is a nice, big carry on bag to put all of my books, puzzle books, iPod, and anything else that will keep me occupied. I have so much more stuff going home than I did coming here, and I have no idea how that happened! Haha, I guess I accumulate a lot more in a 6 week period than I thought. But I have a big carry on bag to ensure that everything fits and is easily accessible during the flight.

I'm so sad I'm leaving London, but at the same time I can't wait to get back to Ohio and finally have my summer! Lazy days with my sister on our days off of work sound so nice! I absolutely can't wait :)

Wardrobe Wishlist: Day in the Park

There are so many parks around London that I've been longing for the chance to go to one and just read for the entire day. Sadly, I've always got stuff going on, but maybe for my last week here I'll spend an hour or two on a sunny afternoon, reading in the park.

The perfect outfit for the park would definitely involve breezy clothes with tons of colors! And don't forget the big purse to fit everything I could ever need in it. The perfect purses are the ones that seem absolutely endless and can easily fit a nice, big book and all of my other things.

The weather has cooled down here in London to the low 60s, but it's supposed to get up to 70 before I leave! And then it's home to 90 degree weather next week! I know that's pretty hot, but I couldn't be more excited to finally feel the summer weather. I'll definitely be living in tank tops and shorts for the rest of my summer. I hope you guys are soaking up the sun as summer sets in, enjoying the sunny days full of good books and tan lines :)

Wardrobe Wishlist: Summer Lovin'

Yesterday, I actually started sweating when I was walking home from the grocery store. What? Is this real life? Does it actually feel like summer in London? Back home, it's been in the 80s and I've been super jealous. I know, the hot, sticky summer weather sucks, but after such a long and brutal winter, I have been craving those long summer days where you can sit outside in a tank top with a glass of lemonade, wasting the day away with your nose buried in a book. But before that weather came to Ohio, I was off to London where it's in the 50s and 60s ALL THE TIME. Needless to say, I was ecstatic that the weather reached the 70s.

Of course, that made me want to go to my flat right away, put on a summer dress, and spin around in circles. Haha, I wish I actually did that. But instead I headed straight to my computer and put together an outfit I would love to wear on a summer day. I found an adorable floral dress that I just had to pair with some Ked-like shoes. For some reason, I love the look of Keds with dresses and Keds are always my go-to shoes when I want to be comfortable when I'm walking around while wearing a dress. You can't tell from the picture, but these shoes had sparkly laces, which make them that much more fabulous.

And lastly, this outfit would not be perfect for summer without all of the color. With blues, yellows, oranges, and greens, you can't help but get the bright, summer vibe. Oh how I wish I was wearing this outfit right now! I hope you guys are having fantastic summer weather and have found the right outfit to celebrate the sun :)

Wardrobe Wishlist: Day Trip

From London, it is crazy how many places you can visit that are just a train ride away. I've already been to Cambridge and Dover in my first two weeks here. Both trips were so much fun and I loved being able to get out of the city for the day and being able to experience such unique places.

When going on day tips, I've definitely learned some things about how to pick the right wardrobe. I have to where something comfortable and easy to move around in, ALWAYS wear comfortable shoes (one girl had to actually leave Dover after about two hours because her feet hurt so bad. It was so sad!), bring sunglasses, and make sure you're purse is big enough for essentials, but not too big that it's a burden. So I picked out some items that I thought would be perfect to wear if I were to go on another trip for the day. I always have to make sure that what I'm wearing looks good, because I always end up taking a thousand pictures.

I got a pair of the orange sunglasses in mint from this fantastic store called Primark here for only one pound! I think the shape is so much fun and I love the mint color I picked out. Primark is seriously amazing, but describing my complete obsession with that store would take up an entire post on its own. Needless to say, I'm all set on the sunglasses front when it comes to my next trip! I'm heading to Stratford today for an overnight trip with my program group, so hopefully I take some of the tips I've learned and pack up for a fun adventure to Shakespeare's birthplace!

Wardrobe Wishlist: Drizzly Days

Ever since I've been in England, it's been drizzly/rainy about 70% of the time. Needless to say, I've been wishing I had a wardrobe that was both functional and cute in the rain, rather than just one or the other. I've been wearing the same black rain jacket every single day and I just wish I had a cute trench coat to fight off the rain because then I'd feel so much better about getting wet. Who cares about a little rain if I'm looking so cute? So that's why I was inspired to find an outfit that I loved that could survive the London weather.

Everyone here is dressed so cute when they're on their way to work, in tights, dresses, and flats. I wish I had thought to bring my tights, but seeing as it was in the 80s when I left Ohio, I thought it would be summer weather here too. Boy was I wrong! But I've heard this is the coldest May they've had in awhile, so I don't feel too bad about my false assumptions. At least I remembered to bring my cute blue and pink polka dot umbrella! That handy little thing always makes me smile :)

It's supposed to be super sunny today, so I'm crossing my fingers that I can finally pull out a pair of shorts and leave the rain coat at home! Hopefully I can visit some markets and maybe go back to the Borough Market, which is pretty much my favorite place on earth. A sunny afternoon filled with tasting cheese and bread? Yes please!

Wardrobe Wishlist: Spring Fling

I am so wishing for the warm weather we had all last week. All of a sudden, Ohio decided it should be 50 degrees after being 70 for so long. This makes me so sad! But to combat the cold weather, I wanted to make a spring outfit that I'd love to wear when it's nice, warm, and sunny. Don't the all of the bright colors just want to make you smile?

I love floral patterned clothes at this time of year, especially seeing all of the pretty flowers on the ground everywhere. I love seeing the flowers on my runs in the morning because they just seem to brighten the world. Haha, I've missed this weather so much! I'm just glad it's supposed to warm right back up on Wednesday. Maybe then I'll be able to wear some shorts and cute tops without freezing. I can't wait!

Wardrobe Wishlist: Summer Treats

I saw this ice cream cone dress on Modcloth and instantly fell in love with how perfect it is for summer. I've been craving ice cream so much lately with this warm weather, and this dress just makes me want the cool summer treat even more! Haha, so I knew I just had to make an outfit centered around it. I'd love to have such a fun dress as part of my own wardrobe!

Summer is so close for me that I can almost taste it! Come Wednesday at 2:30pm, I will be free for the summer and I absolutely cannot wait. So many things are going to happen in the next couple of months and all I have to do is get through these finals to get there. I can do it. And we all know putting together fun outfits like this one is so much more fun that studying for those finals...

Wardrobe Wishlist: Light and Breezy

Lately, it has been absolutely gorgeous outside, but with this lovely spring weather has come some pretty hefty winds. That hasn't stopped me from wearing my dresses and skirts though. I have waited too long for these temperatures to let a little wind scare me off.

This dress I found on Modcloth reminded me so much of the light and breezy winds of spring that I fell in love with it! So, of course, I had to make an outfit that evoked that same feeling. I love the blue and greens and think that they embody spring so well. Not to mention the birds on the ring and watch. Can you tell I'm excited that spring is finally here?

Temperatures are supposed to dip again over the next couple of days, but warm weather is in the future for next week. It's crazy how finally being able to wear a dress can make me feel so happy. I feel so free and light! Haha, I know I'm weird, but it just feels so good to be happy because of an outfit. If only I had the money to buy every dress I fall in love with on Modcloth....

Wardrobe Wishlist: Tea for Two

The weather has become absolutely gorgeous since around Saturday afternoon and I'm loving every second of it. With this warm weather, all I want to do is wear dresses and have a little picnic with the light breeze keeping me cool under the warm sun. Doesn't that sound like paradise?

A tea part would be so much fun to have in this weather, so I couldn't help but pick out the perfect outfit for that occasion. I love the florals and lighter, pastel colors for this season. And don't you just adore that tea pot pin? It's so cute and perfect for a tea party.

Jane Austen is my hero and I'd love to be able to spend an afternoon reading The Jane Austen Handbook while sipping on a cup of tea. Getting lost in the wonderful world of Jane Austen while wearing an adorable floral dress and just feeling fabulous? Sounds good to me :)

Wardrobe Wishlist: Easter Sunday

Easter is one of my favorite holidays (behind Christmas) and I love deciding what to wear to Easter mass on Sunday. The feel of spring is always in the air (though probably not this year seeing as it is currently a snow storm outside....) and I love wearing something that brings out that spring spirit. Floral dresses are always my favorite pattern to turn to.

After going to mass all pretty, I love coming home, kicking off my heels, and curling up with pounds of chocolate from my Easter basket. This year for lent, I gave up Diet Coke, which has been insanely hard, so you can be a can of Diet Coke will bet in my hand after mass this year along with my candy stash. Oh, I can't wait for Sunday to finally arrive. Do you have any fun traditions for Easter Sunday?

Wardrobe Wishlist: Spring Showers

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

I am absolutely in love with pastel colors, so that's why I think spring is one of my favorite seasons. I always find myself wishing I could wear pastel dresses, shoes, purses, and nails every single day of the season. Those shades just make me feel so happy and fun, which is the best kind of outfit to be wearing.

Another great part about spring is that I can finally wear dresses without having to worry about freezing or looking bulky with my winter coat over top. I have so many dresses in my closet that I haven't gotten to wear in months because of the cold Ohio weather. March will definitely be the time to bring them off their hangers and into the spring sunshine. I just hope this snow stops soon and spring can finally arrive!

Wardrobe Wishlist: Boots and Birds

I love finding adorably cute tops to pair with a pair of skinny jeans and boots. With this cold, dreary weather, there's nothing better than adding a pop of color to your wardrobe as well! So I would love to be able to pair some lavender jeans with a fun dark top. And, of course, you can't have the perfect outfit without a nice big tote. I carry so much in my bag (books, notebooks, pens, chapsticks, lotions...) that a big bag is a must for me.

I ordered some boots from Delia's earlier in January and they finally came today! I've been dreaming up outfits to wear with them, so I just had to share this one with you guys. Jeans are my go-to comfort pants (I'm sorry, but leggings are NOT pants), so I'm super excited to dress them up with a cute top and my new boots! Temperatures are slowly rising and I cannot wait for the spring weather to move in. I'm excited to wear dresses and sweaters without my heavy winter coat wearing me down (though the hot pink color does brighten my mood!).

In between classes these past couple of days, I've been snuggling up with some amazing books and counting down the days until I go home in three weeks. I'm also super excited for yet another Quidditch tournament in two weeks. We're going to be heading down to Tennessee for some Harry Potter fun! So I've got quite a bit ahead of me this month. I can't wait to see how it goes! I hope all of your months are off to a great start as well :)

Wardrobe Wishlist: Pastel Passion

No matter what time of the year it is, I am absolutely in love with pastel colors. I was looking through Modcloth and decided to put together a little outfit with my favorite color palette. I love how the mint, pink, and purple all go together!. And what's an outfit without a pair of sparkly oxfords? I just wish I had this outfit so much! I'd probably end up wanting to wear it every other day because I love it so much.

It was back to classes for me today and I had the first knitting meeting of the semester. It was fun to be able to knit and gossip with the girls again. Who knew I'd miss it so much over winter break? I'm working on this fantastic cowl right now and I can't wait for the finished product. I definitely need it with these freezing temperatures. I hope you all are staying warm and are having a great start to your weeks :)
