September 2014 Goals

Guess what? It's September! Where did August go? Well, I'm not complaining because Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. There's everything Pumpkin, the super hot and sweaty weather is going away, I can finally break out my extensive sweater collection, and I get to wear my hand-knitted scarves! Okay, so I know we're still a ways away from actual crisp fall weather, but being in September means we're that much closer. I'm so excited! But here's a little bit about the goals I've set for this month…

Join a new club Throughout the past three years at college, I've tried out a lot of different clubs, most of which I haven't stuck with. I still have knitting club and book club, both of which I founded, but I'd love to join a club where I get to meet new people and that gets me out of my apartment more. I'm thinking of joining running club because I've always wanted to ever since I started running freshman year, but I've never had the guts to run with complete strangers. I'm going to check out the first meeting and see how it goes!

Make s'mores I've been pretty much craving s'mores all month. I'm determined to finally make it happen.

Finish at least half of granny square blanket I mentioned the other day that I'm working on a blanket for my sister. I want to finish it relatively soon, so I'm aiming to have half of it done by the end of the month.

Start and finish a knitting project I have so much yarn and with knitting club starting back up, I seriously need to buckle down and start a new knitting project. I'm thinking of making a new cowl, so it's definitely time to spend some quality time with Ravelry to find the perfect pattern.

Read a lot more books for fun The only time I got to read my choice of books instead of review books this summer was when I was on vacation. I definitely need to make more time to read the books I've bought that have been sitting on my shelves for who knows how long.

Instagram everything I'm obsessed with Instagram, what can I say?

Bake with lots of pumpkin Starting in the fall, I always crave everything pumpkin. I am dying to try out new pumpkin recipes. These White Chocolate Pumpkin Snickerdoodles seem like the perfect place to start.

Train for Panera 10k I convinced one of my friends to run the Panera 5k/10k with me at the end of the month. I really wanted to challenge myself, so I'm going to run the 10k while she's doing the 5k. I'm hoping to finish at 50 minutes or less, but that definitely means I'm going to have to do some speed training before then. Wish me luck!

July Goals

Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of days. I'm finally home from London and there's just so much I have to catch up on after being gone for 6 weeks! I spent all of Sunday writing my 9 page final paper for one of my classes, so that wasn't too much fun. Then, I spent Monday and Tuesday running errands with my sister and going shopping. Haha, yes, shopping was definitely a must for me as soon as I got home! It's been a fantastic couple of days, but now it's to face reality and get back to work.

Now that it's back to normal life for me, I have a ton of goals for this month. When I was studying abroad, I didn't have enough room to pack yarn and needles, so I went through some serious knitting/crocheting withdrawal. Since I'm finally home, I can't wait to spend hours upon hours working away at my different projects. I started a pink and blue chevron afghan that I am already in love with, even though I've barely made a dent in it. I'm excited to see how it turns out after working on it all summer as I try to watch every single James Bond movie ever made with my sister. Doesn't that sound like the perfect way to spend the summer?

Another huge goal for me is organization. I had a little mix-up yesterday regarding my posting date for a book tour on my book blog and it was the worst feeling in the entire world. I guess the dates got all mixed up in my head as I came home and tried to get everything all organized and back to normal. I really want to focus on keeping a calendar and writing EVERYTHING down exactly when I need to get them done. Here's hoping this summer can be organized and stress free! I hope you guys have an excellent month and a fantastic fourth of July!

May Goals

Oh my goodness, is it already May? One more month and the year is already half over! I feel like it was Christmas just last week, but clearly that's not the case. The best part about it being May has got to be this beautiful weather that we've been having. I was getting so depressed with the endless winter, so now that it's sunny and warm, I just want to spin around and start singing everywhere I go. I've been wearing so many dresses that I don't think I ever want to wear a pair of jeans again :)

Wednesday is the official start of summer for me, so a lot of these goals have to do with the fact that I no longer have any classes or homework! I'm probably most excited to hang out with my sister because we haven't seen each other in so long. I really want to spend time with her baking (we've never made a pie from scratch, so we thought that'd be fun to try out) and watching as many movies as we can.

I leave for London on May 19, which is approaching so quickly. I can't believe it! I have so much planning and packing to do, so hopefully my sister can help me with all of that once we're reunited again. And I would love to find some more cute dresses to add to my wardrobe and maybe bring to London with me. When I'm dressed well, my mood just improves so much. And who doesn't love being happy? There's so much potential for this summer ahead and I absolutely can't wait!

Do any of you have fun summer plans? I'd love to hear!

April Goals

It's finally April! I feel like March would just not end and I would never see Spring. Seriously, it was snowing yesterday morning. And there was an insane snow storm just last week that almost canceled classes. What's wrong with you, Ohio? But the sun has finally decided to come out and it's getting warmer, which is a positive sign that Spring is moving in. Thank goodness! The winter weather was putting me in a bad mood and April is supposed to be a happy, sunny month.

For this oh-so-lovely month, I've got a couple of things I really want to accomplish that I've been meaning to ever since 2013 started. I would absolutely love to start writing the book I've had in my head for years, so hopefully that can actually happen this month. I've been working on my Chevron afghan for MONTHS and I'm determined to see it finished before May rolls around. Then, I've got a bunch of shows, books, and movies I want to get through (as always...).

As April starts, that means my trip to London gets closer and closer! Seriously, there are less than 50 days until I'm on a flight across the pond! Woo hoo! I couldn't be more excited, but with the departure getting closer, I have to crack down on planning what I want to do and how my budget will work out. Some serious research is up ahead for me.

As always, baking has made its way onto my goal list. I was able to make a bunch of fun stuff in March, like Red Velvet Cupcakes, Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies, and my very first batch of maracons. I'm hoping April will hold even more exciting adventures in the kitchen.

Overall, I have super high expectations for this month. I've got a ton I want to get done and I am expecting a very warm, sunny month to keep my spirits high while completing this list. As the last month in the semester, I really need to focus on staying positive. Here's to hoping for an amazing April :)

March Goals

Wow, February just seemed to fly by. Seriously, just yesterday I felt like I was celebrating the new month and it's already over tomorrow! But I am so looking forward to leaving behind the icky winter weather and enjoying the cozy spring temperatures I have been craving for the past month.

I don't have any super big plans for March, but that means I can catch up on all of the things I've been meaning to do in Febraury. This month was so busy that I had barely any time to knit or crochet, so that's a huge goal for March. Hopefully I can finish the chevron afghan that I started back in November. I don't think I've had a chance to even pick it up this month, so that definitely needs to change.

I've got high hopes for March, so hopefully it ends up treating me well! Do you guys have any big plans for the month ahead?

It's February Already???

Holy cow. Is January really already over? Where did the time go? Well, I must say January was a pretty good month, but I'm ready to take on February. Hopefully the weather will be warming up and love will be in the air on Valentine's Day! As always, a new month means new goals I hope to accomplish in the next 28 days. So here's what I have planned...

Have an Audrey Hepburn marathon I found out that two girls on the Quidditch team love Audrey almost as much as I do...so we're planning a marathon! It should be super fun :)

Be happy I really can't let the little things get to me! Just focus on being happy and life will be so much better.

Write as much as I can Ever since I started keeping a writer's notebook, I've been so inspired to write. So whether it's in my notebook, my journal, or an actual story on the computer, I want to write any time I can.

Dress up more often I love the days where I am absolutely in love with my outfit because then I dread the moment I get back to my room and have to change. So I want that feeling a lot more this month! Hopefully it will warm up so I can wear some of my dresses.

Read and enjoy what I'm reading Being a book blogger, it's really easy to get caught up in the review books and writing so many reviews that you forget why you loved reading in the first place. Luckily, this hasn't really happened to me and I really want to keep it that way! I'm going to try to find some really awesome books to read this month.

Finish my chevron afghan I have been working on this afghan FOREVER and I really want to finish it! I can't wait to see how the final product looks.

Try out vlogging some more I actually posted my very first vlog on Friday and it was a ton of fun! I really want to exploring the whole vlogging thing and see where I can go with it.

Keep up in my classes I am literally obsessed with my French Cinema class and I really love the English Literature class I'm taking (who knew they could be so naughty back in the day?) so classes have been going really well for me this semester. I really want to keep it that way!

Explore coffee I've tried to stop drinking pop and drinking more water in attempts to be more healthy. This means, though, that I've lost my caffeine source...and as a college student that's not good. At all. So I really want to try out coffee and see if it'll cure my need to doze off in my Italian Cultures class...

And those are all of my goals! Wish me luck and I hope you guys have a fantastic February as well :)
