Project To-Do List

As a knitter/crocheter, there are always an endless amount of projects on my to-do list. Some I start and finish while others lay in my yarn bin, only half completed. Others, though, I simply haven't had the chance to start, and those are often the ones I'm most excited for! I spend hours upon hours on Ravelry and always find new projects to add to my Favorites list. Here are some of the projects that I'm absolutely dying to try out...

I can't wait to get my hands on yarn to make all of these projects! I think I'm most excited for the Weasley Sweater because every Harry Potter fan needs one of those! I haven't knitted a sweater before, though, so I'm really excited to see how that will go. The bobble blanket is adorable and when I saw it on Rachele's blog, I knew I had to make it someday. Well, I will definitely make time for it when I finally finish my Chevron Afghan. And how adorable are those elf slippers??? They'd be absolutely perfect for winter and Christmas time when it rolls around!

Hopefully I can make all of these by the end of the year. The key to actually finishing projects is picking a pattern you're absolutely in love with and can't wait to finish. The end product should be the motivation to keep knitting until you're finally done! And now I'm off to work on my afghan so I can finally have time to move on to one of these lovely projects...

Autumn Playlist

I listen to music all the time: between classes, doing homework, writing blog posts, and any other time I can get away with escaping from the world. My music normally reflects my mood and I'll often listen to the same songs over and over and over and over again. So, I thought I'd share what songs have been stuck on repeat on my iPod lately! I have quite an eclectic taste, along with some old and new songs, so I always have a nice variety of music to listen to. Yes, I know there's a lot of Michael Buble, but his voice just evokes fall and I just couldn't choose one favorite!

Many of these are inspired by the fall weather as it turns colder and colder. They make me think of cold weather, snuggling up with a good book, and drinking some delicious hot cocoa. Mmmm I love this season so much! Hopefully it doesn't rain too much anymore because I've definitely had enough of that these past couple of weeks. I'm excited for the Thanksgiving season to roll around and bring on the pumpkin pie, oven roasted Turkey, and good times with the family. And then it's Christmas! Which is definitely the most wonderful time of the year :) Until then, I'll be listening to my Autumn Playlist, snuggled up in my numerous knitted cowls and scarves as I walk to class through the cool, crisp fall air....

Modcloth Wish List

1/2/3/4/5/6

It's no secret that I absolutely love Modcloth. I mean, seriously love Modcloth. I'm on there almost every day longingly looking at their adorable merchandise. They have everything from bags and dresses to mugs and notebooks. And I want it all! But, since I obviously can't afford to have it all, I thought I'd at least share some of my favorite pieces with you guys!

That little "Add to Wishlist" button on Modcloth is SO easy to push that my Wish List is so long now! Haha, but it's a great way to keep track of all of the cute things I find on there. My absolute favorite items are the ones with cats or foxes on them, like the sweater and mug I have above. They're probably the cutest animals on this earth, so any clothing or kitchen item that has them on it is definitely for me!

And you know the best part about creating a Modcloth Wish List? Christmas is slowly coming up! So a couple of these things may just end up on my Christmas List for Santa...I swear I've been good this year, so hopefully some of these things will appear under the tree come December :)

Run Like Dogs!

Yesterday was the 5k for my service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega and it was a blast! The race was called Run Like Dogs and all of the proceeds went to the Animal Friends Foundation. Nothing like puppies to motivate me to run :) And run I did! There were about 75 people in the race and I came in THIRD PLACE! I was so excited that I finished behind only two guys after a little over 25 minutes. I would say it was a very successful day! Some people even brought their dogs to walk with and I couldn't help but think about my own puppy back home...

It's so sad not being able to see Rosie for 2-3 weeks at a time because I miss her so much! Over the summer she was my little buddy and would always follow me around the house. Normally she'd be stuck in her cage all day when my parents are at work, so when me and my sister are home for break she loves the company :) She loves cuddling up on my bed and stealing the peanut butter jar when we've finished it... *sigh* She's such a little puppy (even though she's 7 years old) and I just love her to death.

So if running 3.1 miles can help out a dog as adorable and loving as my own, then I would do that every day of my life. I guess it's good that I love to run, though, or else I probably would have a very different opinion. Haha, but I'm so glad I got to be a part of this 5k and help out all of those animals in need :)

Craft Corner: Intertwisted Cowl

I absolutely love doing the knit alongs from Knit Purl Hunter and when I saw that this month's pattern was for a cowl, I got SUPER excited. Cowls are my favorite thing to make, especially in the cold months, so I couldn't wait for this one to start!

I had my mom pick up some adorable Simpliworsted burgundy yarn and I was all set to go! Each week, Michelle would reveal the next step to the pattern until the final step was revealed after four weeks! I love running to my computer Thursday morning to see what the next step is...and I'm absolutely in love with the yarn I picked for this project, so I couldn't wait to finish it!

As the project went on, I wasn't sure how much I was going to like this one. Three different strands braided together? But in the end, I really do love how it turned out! I wore it the day after I finished it and actually got comments from people about how cute it was! That's always a good feeling :) Since it was freezing outside, it served both as an accessory and a necessity against the chilly wind! Overall, this project turned out to be a fantastic, adorable cowl that I can't get enough of wearing. The color is gorgeous and the yarn is super soft. Not to mention the whole knit along experience made this a mysterious project that I will never forget!

Audrey Hepburn and chevron afghans

This weekend has turned out to be a lazy weekend with cold, rainy weather and it couldn't have come at a better time! I've been dying for a weekend off to just relax and that's just what I plan on doing today! Here's what's on my agenda for the rest of this weekend...

-Journal I've fallen a little behind in journaling, and I miss it! I love writing down anything and everything that comes to my mind, so that is definitely a major priority to give myself time to do sometime today.

-Eat Halloween Candy Halloween is sadly over, but that doesn't mean that the candy isn't still sticking around! Haha, I've got a ton of goodies stashed around my room, so I'll definitely be munching on that all day long.

-Watch Hepburn movies A bunch of Audrey and Katharine Hepburn movies came in for me at the library and I am just eating them up! I watched Bringing Up Baby yesterday and The African Queen on Thursday (both with Katharine Hepburn), and then I watched Wait Until Dark on Thursday with Audrey Hepburn. All of them were absolutely fabulous and I have become obsessed with the Hepburn ladies! I'm planning on watching Paris When It Sizzles tonight and I hope it's as good as the ones I've been watching :)

-Read I got this super adorable book of modern poetry from the campus library and thought it'd be something fun to read in between homework. I'm also reading Possession by Elana Johnson and it's really good so far!

-Crochet my chevron afghan I'm slowly but surely making progress on my newest project, a chevron afghan. Elycia posted a chevron afghan crochet pattern last month and I knew I had to make it. So the last time I went home, I went to Michaels and got yarn to make it! I've been working on it so much and feel like I've gotten nowhere, but I'm determined to finish it this month! Good thing I'm completely in love with the pattern, so I actually enjoy working on this! Hopefully I can get a good chunk finished this weekend :)

And that's what I'm up to! It may not seem like much, but I absolutely can't wait for it all to happen :) Oh, and then I'm running a 5k tomorrow that's for an Animal Friends Organization, so I'm so excited for that to happen! Until then, I'll be hard at work on my afghan while enjoying the enchanting Audrey Hepburn :) Hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Anything fun planned?

Friday's Favorites

At last, it's Friday! I actually had a fantastic week, so the fact that it's Friday just makes it so much better! I have been watching at least a movie a day and working hard on my chevron afghan! I'm not that far into it, but I'm determined to finish it this month! I'll share my progress on it sometime next week :) But aside from my oh so fabulous (haha, yeah right) life, here are some awesome things that have caught my eye in the past week!

1) Now that Halloween is over, I can start obsessing over Christmas! Haha, okay so it may be a little early, but I couldn't get over how cute this snitch ornament is! I'm going to have to find one when we put up our tree!

2) Isn't this pen organization just brilliant? I could see taking a shoebox, decorating it, then putting the toilet paper rolls inside! I'm definitely going to try this out when I get my hands on the supplies!

3) It may or may not already be clear that I have a slight obsession with mustaches. So when I saw these moustache cookies I kinda went crazy. Haha, they're just so gosh darn cute :)

4) Speaking of cute, how adorable are these penguin cupcakes??? I obviously don't have the skills needed to make these, but I can still admire how utterly cute they are!

5) I love love love these pink iPhone cases! Mmmm they make me want to add even more cases to my exponentially growing collection :)

6) After watching some more classics like Roman Holiday, The Nun's Story, and Wait Until Dark, I have become completely enamored with Audrey Hepburn. She's so gorgeous and just an amazing actress! I think I've definitely found a new idol in life :)

7) How amazing is this ferris wheel cupcake holder? I need to find myself one of these, like now, because it is absolutely adorable! Perfect for anyone as obsessed with cupcakes as me :)

8) I love the color of these owl earrings! Well, I love anything owl related, so it's no surprise how much I want these to be a part of my earring collection...

9) Doesn't this little nook look like the perfect place to curl up with a book on a chilly autumn day?

10) This Get Fit Countdown is so perfect! When I look at it, I get so inspired to go workout and get healthy. I definitely want to create something like this for myself when I get into a workout funk and don't feel like running. Nothing like inspiration to stay healthy!
