Knitting Temptations

Since I have not been knitting for that long, I have never actually been to a knitting shop. Well, until Saturday that is! I went to a knitting shop for the first time (okay, second, but the first time was like two years ago, so that was before I even cared) and I absolutely fell in love. I didn't even think to take my camera to the shop, but I definitely am next time! Here's what I got :)

The shop was this adorable little place called Knitting Temptations and I fell in love at first sight! I was in awe as soon as I walked into the store and saw all of the colors decorating the walls. Then, my mom took me into this little nook off of a the room that had all of the knitting books and it was the sale room! I ended up getting three skeins of light blue yarn for a pillow that I'm going to be doing a knit-a-long for in July. Can't wait for it!

My most exciting find was this yarn! Not only was it already on sale, but these two skeins were in the onsies/twosies bin (where the skeins either only had one or two left in that color) so it was 10% more off! I didn't even know what I would make out of it, I just knew I had to have it!

I've never used this yarn before either, but I know I can find something to make. I'll probably end up doing a cowl that I found on ravelry. The only problem is I'll have to wait so long before I can actually wear it :( Oh well, it will definitely be worth the wait! But in the mean time, I am for sure visiting Knitting Temptations in the near future! It is so cute and I'm going to remember to bring my camera so I can show all of you how amazing it is!

And that's how I found my new love of yarn shops! Do any of you have a favorite knitting store? I'd love to hear all about it, so don't hesitate to share!!

Photo Challenge // Orange

Orange you excited to see my pictures?? Haha, get it? Orange?? Anyways.....this was super fun! I got this idea from Mandy over at Miss Indie and knew I had to try it out myself! I chose orange for my color because I was intrigued to see how much of it I owned. I was pleasantly surprised to see this much! I forgot a couple of orange lotions I had, but this is mainly what I own that's orange! It's such a pretty color and I love how bright it is :)

This challenge was so much fun! I can't wait to try out another color some time soon :)

Obsession // Modcloth

So I've got another obsession to share with you guys. Modcloth. Seriously, I cannot get enough of their store. I wish I could buy every single thing from them, but sadly I'm a poor college student who can't buy that much, no matter how pretty it is! But I thought I'd share with you my favorite pieces!

These glasses are only $11.99. I may just have to buy these :)

This dress is so cute and it has tiny eiffel towers all over it! Isn't it adorable? Too bad it's $129.99....that's a little out of my price range!

I absolutely love the collar on this dress! And the color is so pretty! It's only $47.99, so I may just have to consider this one!

I freaking love this purse. The color is gorgeous and the style is even cuter! And it's $78.99. Totally worth every penny!

Talk about perfect for summer. This Citrus Dress is $49.99 and the colors are so much fun! I want, I want!!

These flats are so adorable! And the color is so refreshing and the bow is so cute! For $32.99, these flats definitely need to find a spot in my closet!

Okay, now I really have to stop looking or else I'll start drooling. I hope you guys enjoyed my favorites from Modcloth. Have any of you actually bought something from there? I'd love to hear what you've purchased! Or at least what's on your wish list!

Currently...

(I got this idea from Mandi. Love her blog!)

Obsessing over animal shaped rings, my new running shoes, baking, reading at least a book a day, making money at my new job at the zoo, pastel nail polish, lip balm, and 80s movies. I just watched Some Kind of Wonderful and it was AWESOME! Why can't my life be an 80s movies??

Working on my afghan and staying organized. I'm hoping to finally finish the afghan sometime next week. I'm over half way done now!

Thinking about Liam Hemsworth. Seriously, how could he propose to Miley? Why doesn't he see I'm the one for him?? Haha, but I'm just thinking about how she's 19 and found the one she wants to share her life with. When will this happen to me?

Listening to Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Adele, Kris Allen, Florence and the Machines, Karmin, and One Direction. My summer playlist is on repeat.

Wishing for more time to finish this post before I'm late for work...

Obsession // 80s movies

So I have an obsession to share with you guys. I am undoubtedly in love with 80s movies.

The first is, obviously, The Breakfast Club. I don't know why, but there's just something that everyone can relate to with this one. I'm not a big fan of Molly Ringwald, but her movies are just so freaking good.

Long Duck Dong is my long lost love <3 haha, jk. But he's definitely my favorite character in Sixteen Candles. This is probably my favorite Molly Ringwald movie just because all of the characters are so great!

Ahhh the wrong Patrick Dempsey :) He is so cute in Can't Buy Me Love and i just can't get enough of this movie! I made all of my friends at school watch it and now they love it too :)

I love any kind of musical or dance movie, so of course Flashdance makes this list :) It's so good! What a feeling, keep believing!

Speaking of dancing...Dirty Dancing is obviously one of my favorites. Ahhhh I'll forever love Patrick Swayze <3

The Goonies is freaking fantastic. I can watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it. Goonies never say die!

And last, but certainly not least, The Princess Bride. If anyone hasn't seen this movie, you are crazy. And you need to see it now. This is honestly one of the best love stories of all time.

And those are my favorite 80s movies! There are obviously so many more, but these are the ones that instantly come to mind when I think of that time. I seriously think I was born in the wrong decade...because living in the 80s would have been totally sweet.

In My Knitting Bag

I love knitting and crocheting, so I thought I'd share with you all what I carry in my knitting bag!

1) I use a Vera Bradley bag as my primary knitting bag. I love the owl pattern so much and it's roomy enough to fit everything I need

2) Just a couple of needles I keep in my bag. This isn't all I have, but these are in case I want to start a new project

3) My bag full of little knitting supplies

4) My yarn! These are the colors I'm using to make my Granny Square Afghan

5) I use one of the free makeup bags I got to hold all of my knitting supplies

6) My crochet hooks

7) I use a little Very Bradley pouch to hold my stitch markers that I made

8) My mom got me a tin supply kit from The Sexy Knitter. It includes a measuring tape, needles, a tiny pair of scissors, stitch holders, star stitch markers, cable needle, and double ended crochet hook. It's so nifty and has everything I would ever need. If you're a knitter, I would seriously recommend getting one of these!

9) A peppermint measuring tape. Not sure where my mom got it, but I love it!

10) Tapestry needles

11) Snitch stitch markers! They'e SO cute and my mom got them for me from Etsy

12) Some double pointed needles

13) More stitch holders for any projects I want to put away for a little bit

14) Pens! I always need to write down what row I'm on or else I get so confused and need to start all over again. Not fun!

And that's all in my bag! I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse of my knitting life. What's a must have in your knitting bags? I'd love to hear!
