Friday's Favorites

Wow, so I totally thought I posted this yesterday morning. Guess I didn't! Which is really sad. So just pretend that it's Friday morning right now :)

It's FRIDAY!!! Woo hoo! I've got some fun plans this week like baking cookies, going to the Miami v. OSU hockey game, and stopping by the local library for the first time in weeks. I can't wait! And then I've got a week of classes to get through. Lately, I've been reading a ton of Jane Austen and it's been making me so happy! I only have two and a half of her books left to read and it's going to be so bittersweet when I finish the last one. You can never have the experience of reading her books for the first time again. Hopefully I can fit in some quality time with Jane and cherish those moments with her :)

1) I would love to have a Union Jack backpack! It reminds me of my upcoming London trip this summer and I can't wait!

2) These turtle cupcakes are the cutest cupcakes I've ever seen. And they look delicious!

3) The flower pockets on these jean shorts are such a cute touch. They make me long for spring!

4) Aww I remember being so obsessed with ring pops when I was little. We would always pretend they were wedding rings :) I really want one now!

5) Oh my goodness, I want this Sherlock phone case SO BAD. Sherlock is probably the best show ever.

6) Mmmmm these frozen chocolate covered kiwi pops look so yummy. You get your chocolate and fruit all in one snack!

7) The icing on this rainbow cake is beyond adorable. It reminds me of a mermaid's tail!

8) Tehe, this scrabble saying is so cute. And seriously, if I love you more than cupcakes, then I probably love you a lot.

9) This feather ring is so cute! I'd love to add this to my ring collection!

10) Oh my gosh, how delicious do these funfetti pancakes look? I've kind of become obsessed with pancakes lately, so these look like they would be a ton of fun to make.

Wardrobe Wishlist: Spring Showers

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

I am absolutely in love with pastel colors, so that's why I think spring is one of my favorite seasons. I always find myself wishing I could wear pastel dresses, shoes, purses, and nails every single day of the season. Those shades just make me feel so happy and fun, which is the best kind of outfit to be wearing.

Another great part about spring is that I can finally wear dresses without having to worry about freezing or looking bulky with my winter coat over top. I have so many dresses in my closet that I haven't gotten to wear in months because of the cold Ohio weather. March will definitely be the time to bring them off their hangers and into the spring sunshine. I just hope this snow stops soon and spring can finally arrive!

March Goals

Wow, February just seemed to fly by. Seriously, just yesterday I felt like I was celebrating the new month and it's already over tomorrow! But I am so looking forward to leaving behind the icky winter weather and enjoying the cozy spring temperatures I have been craving for the past month.

I don't have any super big plans for March, but that means I can catch up on all of the things I've been meaning to do in Febraury. This month was so busy that I had barely any time to knit or crochet, so that's a huge goal for March. Hopefully I can finish the chevron afghan that I started back in November. I don't think I've had a chance to even pick it up this month, so that definitely needs to change.

I've got high hopes for March, so hopefully it ends up treating me well! Do you guys have any big plans for the month ahead?

March Wishlist

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6

Lately, I've found myself spending hours just looking at adorable products on the internet that I would love to own. Like yesterday, I spent a good hour and a half looking at all of the editions of Pride and Prejudice for sale and absolutely fell in love with the one from Anthropologie. Who knew one book could be so adorable in so many different editions?

And I'm completely loving color and craving all things pink, blue, green, purple....I just want to get out of this gray winter and into spring already! When is the cold, dreary weather ever going to stop? Well, to keep my in a good mood, I stare longingly at all of these things, just wishing they would magically appear in my hands...

How are you guys fighting off these last cold days of winter? Aren't you guys so ready for spring and the wonderful dresses and outfits you can wear in the warmer weather? I sure know I am!

Snobs and Toll House Cookies

To say I had an awesome weekend is a HUGE understatement. I got to spend my time at home with my parents, sister, and dog and it was just what I needed right now. I forgot all about school or homework and just focused on being happy with my family. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend, but it definitely went by way too fast. Who knew three days could be gone in the blink of an eye? Good thing Spring Break is only two weeks away! I did, though, end up being able to do some pretty fun stuff in those quick three days...

-I grabbed my copy of Pride and Prejudice and made sure I packed it to bring back to school. It's the next book up in my Jane Austen Book Club and I'm super excited to read it.
-My mom had gotten me three milkyways since she didn't send me any Valentine's Day candy and I made sure to bring those back to school with me too. Midterms are coming up next week, so I'll definitely need some chocolate to get me through that.
-My mom had also bought SIX bags of Toll House cookie dough because they were on sale and she had coupons. So we made cookies. A lot of cookies. Haha, I've got a huge tub I brought back to school with me as well.
-On the counter was the book Snobs when I walked through the door. It was a library copy, but apparently it's by one of the writers of Downton Abbey! I couldn't take this since we didn't actually own it, but I definitely want to see if the library at school has this because I really want to read it now.
-I had a lovely stack of books waiting for me in my room and I am beyond excited to read all of the books I got. I get excited just looking at the picture! I finished one of the books I had waiting for me and it was phenomenal. I can't wait to see what the rest of the books have in store for me.
-Of course, I made sure I got to spend tons of quality time with my puppy. Isn't she just the cutest thing you've ever seen?

It makes me so sad thinking this fantastic weekend is already over. It was so relaxing and filled with tons of delicious food that I don't have on campus (Pei Wei and McDonald's Shamrock Shakes). When is Spring Break? Haha, I just have to make it through these next two weeks! Hopefully I survive ;)

Jane Austen Notes and Caramel Milkyways

You have no idea how happy I am that it's the weekend! I got to wake up this morning in my own bed with my puppy waiting downstairs looking as adorable as ever. Not to mention there was a stack of books in my room that had come for me in the past two weeks. Yeah, you could say I'm glad to be home :) Here's what I hope to do this weekend while I'm at home!

-Plan some fun knitting projects and goals for spring break. That's right, my spring break is only two weeks away! I also want to plan some fun things to do with my Jane Austen Book Club that I started this semester.
-Read some of the fantastic books that came in the mail for me! I'm obsessed with the covers of Kate Locke's books. The Queen Is Dead is the second book in that series and I'm absolutely loving it so far.
-I've got so much going on in the next two months that I've really got to stay organized in my planner. More Quidditch tournaments, baking dates, and movies that I want to see.
-I came home to find three Milkyways with my name on them :) They're my favorite candy (the normal ones are the best, but caramel is still good too!) and since my parents didn't send me any candy for Valentine's Day, it was a nice surprise to find :)
-I really want to work on more projects! I haven't finished a knitting or crocheted project in over two weeks and I'm feeling really anxious about it. Hopefully I'll have time to get some of my creative juices flowing today.

That's it for me! My dad is making some spaghetti and meatballs for lunch and my sister and I already made some cookies this morning. Mmmmm I can always count on delicious food when I come home! I hope you guys have a great weekend as well! Do any of you have fun plans?

Friday's Favorites

Happy Friday everyone! I'm writing this from home and I couldn't be happier! I saw TWO movies today and got to see my sister after being separated for six weeks. And I got to see my parents and puppy. So you could say I'm pretty happy right now :)

1) Hehe, this pigs in the mud cake is probably one of the cutest cakes I've ever seen.

2) Gahhhh so freaking excited for The Great Gatsby movie to come out!

3) These black lace shoes are so adorable! i would love to own a pair.

4) Mmmm these chocolate truffles look so delicious! And I love the pink sprinkles on the outside :)

5) This is such a cute way to organize your kitchen! I absolutely adore the mixture of colors and patterns.

6) Reese's are probably my favorite candy ever. I'm pretty sure I would die if I had the chance to eat this Reese's cake

7) I would love to have a print of these adorable painted kittens in my room.

8) Speaking of cats....aren't these kitty cookies the coolest cookies you've ever seen?

9) I would love to make a rainbow cake as cool as this one!

10) This striped sweater looks so adorable and cozy. I would love to have it to keep me warm during these last cold days of winter!

Movies I'm Dying to See

I am an absolute movie fanatic, and there are so many movies that have been recently release/soon to be released that I am dying to see. The only problem, though, is that the movie theater on campus closed down so I have no way to see these movies! Hopefully when I go home this weekend, I can see at least one of these movies on my list....

Already Released

Coming Soon

Oh my gosh, just looking at the movie posters has me so excited for these. How can so many good movies all come out at once? I have got to find a way to see these asap or else I'm going to go crazy! I've read Safe Haven and The Host, so I'm probably most excited for those two. And I'm obsessed with Die Hard, so that is a definite must-see for me. Have you guys seen any of them or any other new releases lately? Which ones have been your favorites?

Cherry Nails and Red Velvet Cupcakes

This weekend was super fun because I got to go to Tennessee for a Quidditch tournament, but I spent the entire day Sunday in my room, hibernating from the cold weather I spent all day in on Saturday. It was a nice, relaxing day that I really needed. It may not sound like much, but sometimes you need a day to catch up on sleep and those little things. Here's a little bit more from my weekend...

-I started Northanger Abbey and it's no surprise that I'm completely in love with it already. Why did I wait so long to read Jane Austen? I'm also reading a super yummy paranormal romance. There's just something about dark, brooding demons that just gets to me.
-I painted my nails Cherry Red and I'm obsessed with how they look against my keyboard cover. Haha, I'm staring at them as I'm typing this right now...so pretty!
-I made the most AMAZING red velvet cupcakes on Friday and I'm still obsessed with how delicious they were.
-On top of the cupcakes, me and my friend made delicious cream cheese frosting. You have no idea how unbelievably good these cupcakes were. I had three in one day. Haha, and I don't even regret it :) Thank goodness my friend gave me her recipe so I can make them anytime I want now!

And that was my weekend/Monday. I am so looking forward to making more red velvet cupcakes and reading more Jane Austen. Hopefully I can finish the book this week and let you all know how I liked it! I'm going home on Thursday and I cannot wait to spend the weekend with my parents, sister, and puppy. I haven't seen my sister in over a month, so it's going to be a pretty fantastic weekend. Hope you guys had a good start to your weeks as well :)

A Pie Movie and More Jane Austen

Hello everyone! How are you all doing today? I hope you've been enjoying your weekends! Mine was spent driving 5.5 hours to Tennessee to play a Quidditch tournament all day in the snow, then driving 5.5 miles back home. It was definitely an exhausting weekend, but we came in second in the tournament! We ended up winning 5 out of the 6 games we played, which has never happened before. Needless to say, it was definitely a good tournament for us. I'm just happy, though, to be back into the warmth of my dorm room.

Since I'll be holing up all day trying to thaw out from the freezing Saturday I spent outside, I've got a bunch of stuff I hope to get done...

-I found the movie Waitress at the library and it looked like a super cute movie. It's about a girl who wants to win a pie contest, and falls in love in the process. Doesn't that sound cute?
-I'm still making progress on crocheting my chevron afghan. Hopefully I can work on it some more while I watch the movie.
-I am reading Northanger Abbey for one of my English Lit classes and I'm really excited to get it started.
-I'm reading a fantastic historical romance that I seriously can't put down right now. Elizabeth Hoyt is definitely one of my new favorite authors now.
-I've been trying to keep up my new years resolution to write in my journal more often. I really want to make time to do that today.
-I don't know if it's from the cold or lack of sleep from this weekend, but my throat has been really bothering me. I'm planning on making a nice, big, hot cup of tea to make my throat feel better.

I know it's not much, but it's just what I need before starting on a long week of classes again. I hope you guys have a great Sunday as well!

To do list: #28

#28: Join a book club

Since book clubs are kind of scarce on a college campus, I decided to take things into my own hands and for my own Jane Austen Book Club! Our first meeting was on Valentine's Day and we read Persuasion by Jane Austen. I was so nervous going into the meeting because I had no idea how it would go or how chatty the other members were going to be. There were four of my friends who showed up and while that's a pretty small group, I think it was perfect for discussing the book. We all loved the novel and had so much fun discussing it together. We swooned over Wentworth and Anne, complained about Mary, and fell in love with Austen's writing.

Next meeting, we've decided to read Pride and Prejudice and meet for dinner as well as the book club. I can't wait to read this one because I am in love with the movie and I've heard it's her best book. Hopefully I'll love it as much as I'm expecting too. Our meeting is in two weeks, so I'll let you all know how that goes as well :) Needless to say, discussing Jane Austen was the perfect ending to a pretty great Valentine's Day!

Friday's Favorites

Oh my goodness, it's about time it's Friday! I have been waiting for this day FOREVER and it's finally here! After a lengthy week of classes, I get to go over to my friend's apartment tomorrow and make some delicious red velvet cupcakes while watching another Audrey Hepburn movie. Then, I'm heading down to Tennessee for a Quidditch tournament! Doesn't that sound fun? Well, I sure can't wait for some delicious desserts and bonding time with my fantastic teammates.

1) Speaking of red velvet, I am completely drooling over these red velvet cupcakes. They just look so delicious!

2) This elephant ring is so adorable! I just can't get enough of his cuteness.

3) I've acquired a slight obsession with Chapstick, so when I saw this pile of colorful chapstick, i got super excited! All of the flavors look so delicious!

4) This happiness picture basically sums up my perfect Saturday...

5) I absolutely love that Audrey Hepburn shirt! Where can I get one?

6) I would love to die my hair this shade of pink. It would look so cool!

7) Mmmmm, these banana oat cookies look so delicious and easy to make.

8) I am in love with this mint bathing suit. If I were going anywhere sunny for spring break, I would definitely want to be wearing this suit.

9) This icing technique is so cool! I'll have to try it out sometime!

10) how cute is this popsicle flash drive? I would definitely never lose this one because it's way too precious to misplace!

Wardrobe Wishlist: Valentine's Day

So let's just pretend that I have a boyfriend. If he were to take me out on a super romantic dinner for Valentine's Day, this is definitely what I would want to wear! I love the strawberry colored dress with the mint accessories so much! It isn't the cliche bright red outfit, but instead it's got some fun colors that are both romantic and fun at the same time. And I am obsessed with that purse. Isn't the big bow on front just gorgeous?

Even though I don't have anyone taking me out tomorrow, maybe I'll still dress up a little with some Valentine's Day spirit. I don't need a man to have fun on such a romantic holiday! I can feel good about myself while looking good. And I can pop in one of my Valentine's Day movies and eat some delicious chocolate. Sounds like a perfectly good time to me :)

Top 10 Valentine's Day Movies

I don't know about you guys, but my absolute favorite part of Valentine's Day is watching some good old romance movies. Since I don't have a significant other, I couldn't think of a better way of spending the most romantic day of the year with Mr. Darcy or the gorgeous Patrick Dempsy.

These movies aren't in any particular order because it's way too hard picking one favorite. But these always put me in a super good, romantic mood. So here's the list!

I have no idea which movie I'm going to pick to watch on Thursday! Maybe I'll watch them all this week so that I don't have to choose :) Every year my parents normally send me something for Valentine's Day, which is so sweet. One year, my dad even got me and my sister a teddy bear with a heart shaped balloon. It makes the day so special!

Do any of you have any fun Valentine's Day plans? Anything you do every year? Well, I hope you have a great Valentine's Day either way :)

A Lovely Weekend to Myself

This was the first weekend in a while that I had the entire weekend to myself, and I must say it was awesome! I got to hang out with some pretty amazing friends and do some baking. Not to mention catch up on some homework that really needed to get done. I even got ahead on some homework, which makes this week so much less stressful. Here's what else I got accomplished this lovely weekend...

-This morning I went to Starbucks after church and spend about an hour and a half reading Persuasion by Jane Austen. I am absolutely loving the book right now and can't wait to read it some more.
-I painted my nails a fun mint color with a purple accent nail. And they haven't chipped yet! It's some kind of miracle :)
-I got to bake cupcakes! They are so delicious and look how pretty they look! I'm obsessed with the polka dot cupcake liners and the pretty pink pearl sprinkles. The best thing about baking these was that I did it with two of my friends, so I didn't have to eat them all myself. We all know I definitely don't need 12 cupcakes all to myself.

Doesn't that sound like a productive weekend? Well I think it is! I was able to watch Breakfast At Tiffany's and Singin' In the Rain, so those two movies alone pretty much made my weekend. Having a cupcake a day doesn't hurt either ;)

My first Jane Austen Book Club meeting is this Thursday, so I'm really nervous and excited for that. Then, I'm off to Tennessee on Friday for yet another Quidditch Tournament. We're hoping to win a lot of games, so hopefully we play well. And that's it from me! I hope you guys had an awesome weekend and enjoy your mondays tomorrow.
