Friday's Favorites

It's FRIDAY!!! And you know what??? I get the day off today! So it's actually Friday for me! I think it's the first Friday off I've had in over four weeks, so I'm kinda excited :) Here's what else has been making this Friday super amazing for me!

1) Mmmmm chocolate moustaches?? I don't know if I'd want to eat these because they're so freaking adorable. Well, okay I probably would eat them. I mean, it's chocolate...

2) Ahhh another yummy desert. I LOVE cookie dough, so what's better than cookie dough pizza?

3) This is so cool!! I saw these before, but not made out of super bright paper. What a great idea! I have so got to try this sometime.

4) Bahaha pretty much how I feel about life. And New Girl is like the best show ever :)

5) I seriously want to go here and buy pretty much every single pair of these shorts. With this weather (it was 102 degrees yesterday) I need more cute shorts to wear!

6) Haha isn't this so funny? Facebook shower curtain!

7) Doesn't this just scream summer? I love the color and the anchor! So cute!

8) These colors are so cute! And those portraits on the wall are adorable. It proves dogs really are part of the family :)

9) haha, first time I saw this I thought they were rocks. But they're pillows! How cool is that??

10) Magic Mike came out today!!!! Hopefully I can see it sometime this week because it looks SO FREAKING GOOD.

And that's all from me this Friday! Hope you guys have an awesome weekend :)

Craft Corner: Lip Balm Case

I had some left over yarn from a market bag I made, so I decided to make this super cute lip balm case! I was a little confused in the beginning, but that's just because I was stupid and didn't read the directions right (which I tend to do a lot...). But once I figured out I was supposed to do TWO single crochets for the second row in each stitch, it turned out a lot better. So just a head's up, read the directions right! And if you do that, this project should be no problem at all. It took me about 20 minutes and I'm so happy with how it turned out! I even found a little duck button from my mom's button tin, so it's absolutely perfect now!

I love how the striped pattern from the yarn worked out! I'm definitely going to make some more of these for myself and maybe for some swaps I'm taking a part of. My family thought I was crazy for being so excited over a lip balm case, but I think it's adorable!! Haha, I guess I just get excited over my projects wayyy too easily :) You guys should definitely try it out! It's cute, fun, and perfect to throw in your purse!

Currently...

Obsessing over dollar journals from Michaels, my secret blogger swap present, True Blood, chocolate chip banana bread, Adele's music, my P90X workout schedule, and fun knitting projects.

Working on crocheted lip balm cases, knitting pouches for my projects, and coffee cozies for my swap gifts. I love swaps (like the secret blogger swap I'll be posting about on the 3rd) and I'm always looking for new things to make to give as gifts!

Thinking about how summer is already two months in. I start school in less than two months. Where has time gone?? So much stuff to get done those two months. Hopefully I can knock more stuff off of my to-do list!

Listening to Justin Bieber's new songs, Adele, Say What I Feel by the Overtones, Parachute's album from last summer, Maroon 5, and Matt White.

Wishing for the courage to dye my hair a crazy color, more hours in the day, the ability to become a vampire and have no need for sleep at all, lazy days at the pool, warm weather on my days off so I can finally wear tank tops, and some mint chocolate chip ice-cream with chocolate shell on top :)

To do list: #22

#22: Crochet An Afghan

Andddd I finally finished another item on my to-do list! This one took me MONTHS to do, but it is totally worth it in the end! Here are some pictures :)

It's not as big as I hoped it would turn out, but it's still big enough to be a lap blanket! After 120 squares, I didn't really want to make that many more! Haha, it was SO MUCH WORK. I was so happy to finish all the squares, but then it took me another week and a half just to attach them all. But it's DONE! I'm so happy it's done and with how it turned out. The colors are so pretty and I can't wait to show it off to everyone at school! Here's some more shots of the completed blanket!

Ain't she a beaut?? Haha, well I'm so happy this one's knocked off my bucket list! Hopefully I can make another afghan in the future without taking forever this time!

Friday's Favorites

So I just realized it's Friday. At 8:58 pm. Yeah, I know. EPIC FAIL. Working 5 days a week (including weekends) makes me lose complete track of the days. So I'm a little late posting my favorites for this Friday, but I am determined to get them up today! So here is what I have been loving this past week :)

1) Baahaha I feel this way every time I get my picture taken...

2) This is such a cute sweatshirt! I've got to find me one before the new movies comes out :)

3) This is such an adorable idea! Great way to make picture books look cute.

4) I love watermelons, so these shoes would be perfect for me!

5) I've been dying to buy some new tights for when the weather cools and these look so cute! I would love a pair for myself!

6) Legwarmers have been on my to-knit list for so long. Hopefully I can get a pair done by the time fall rolls around!

7) Aren't these some of the cutest cupcakes you've ever seen??

8) Summer means it's time to make even more friendship bracelets!

9) I LOVE this song by Ed Sheeran. I heard it for the first time last November and now it's becoming popular..so happy people found the beauty in it too!

10) I would love to have this tree at home. The purple lights are so pretty!

And that's all that's been going on with me this Friday! Hopefully I can actually pay attention to the days of the week this week, haha. In the meantime, hope you all have a great weekend!

Craft Corner // Knitted Coffee Cuff

I have a ton of left over yarn from different projects and was searching Ravelry for something fun to do with it. I can across this adorable cabled coffee cuff and decided to try it out! The directions were easy enough (especially since it was free! Yay for free patterns on Ravelry!) and I whipped it up in a little over two hours. I would have taken me less time, but I kept on having to add cabled rows because the pattern only told you to do three extra ones, which made it come out way too short to fit around  cup. So if you decide to do this one, make sure to add at least two more cabled rows if you want this to fit around a cup! Other than that, it's perfect!

I added a cute little star button and I can't get over how adorable this is! There are two button holes for whatever size cup you need to use it for! What do you guys think? I'm definitely making more of these and using them instead of the cardboard ones every time I get some Starbucks! Who knew it was so easy to look cute while saving the environment?

Staying Organized // Jewelry

Recently I've added some new containers to organize my jewelry and I'm obsessed with them! So I thought I'd share my jewelry organization with you :)

I got this super cute butterfly tin at Goodwill for only 50 cents! Yup! And I put all of my bracelets in there so that they're all in one place and easy to find!

Another 50 cent Goodwill find! This is supposed to be a cracker dish, but I put my rings in there and it's perfect! I absolutely love the little kittens on the side and the cherries lining the outside. Isn't it adorable??

And the best for last! My necklace holder! The silhouette is so cute and I love the outfit on it. There are so many little hooks that there is an endless amount of room for all of my necklaces! It's perfect for staying organized!

And that's how my jewelry is organized! Goodwill is the perfect place to find cheap ways to stay organized and everything is so cute that I find there! Do any of you have tips/secrets for staying organized? I'd love to hear!

In My Bag

It's been a while since I've shown you all what was in my bag, so I thought I'd share it with you today!

1. I recently got this new, adorable fox purse from ebay for only $9 and I'm absolutely obsessed with it! It even has little ears that stick up and everything! It's definitely one of my best finds online :)

2. My wallet! I'm always in the mood for something different when it comes to my wallet, and I decided to change to a longer one today. I love the metallic blue/gold color of this one.

3. A notebook! I never know when I'm going to want to jot something down throughout the day.

4. And pens to go with the notebook.

5. Coconut lotion. I never go anywhere without lotion and what's summer without a scent that makes me want to go the to beach?

6. Ahhh I have slight addiction to gum. I haven't had Winterfresh in a while, so that's what I picked up at the store!

7. My change purse from Vera Bradley! I have A TON of change, so I've been trying to pay with it (I know it's annoying, but I have so much that I might as well use it) and this Vera Bradley pouch is perfect for it.

8. Bert's Bees lip balm. This stuff is magic when I have chapped lips!

And that's what's in my bag today! Don't you guys think the fox purse is so cute? I can't get enough of it :) Do any of you have fun shaped purses? I'd love to hear, so don't hesitate to share! And I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse into my bag!

[My] weekend plans

So I work from Wednesday to Sunday, so tomorrow starts my weekend! Yay! I'm so excited for that day to start because there is SO much stuff I have to do!

1) Paint my nails! I got adorable new nail polish colors and I can finally make my nails look pretty again.
2) Ughh I seriously need to catch up on my reading! I got so many good books in the mail that I can't wait to crack into them and escape into new stories.
3) I got this adorable penguin backpack from work because the strap had come off, but with a little sewing up it's as good as new! And tomorrow I'm going to the water park with my sister (for free since I work for the zoo) and spend some time soaking up the sun :)
4) This super cute frame is from Good Will and I got it for only 50 cents! I'm hoping to go there tomorrow to see if anything's good I can get for my Sweet Summer Secret Swap person! So excited to send my present to them :)

And those are my plans! What are you all doing this week? I'd love to hear! In the meantime, I hope you all had a great weekend of your own!

4) More his and her mugs...I just can't get enough of them! They're adorable!

5) Mail :) I love getting mail me and my friends from school have been keeping in touch through letters. There's nothing like running to the mailbox every day to see if something came for you :)

6) These are so cute! You just get paper that looks like bark, then paint on it in white to make it look like you carved a tree. It's such a cute idea!

7) These nails are so adorable. I cannot make my nails cute to save my life, so I'm always in awe of anyone who can!

8) I LOVE this backpack! The color with the lace are perfect!

9) This is such a cute way of displaying the Hunger Games quote. Love the colors!

To Do List: #36

#36: Send a Postcard

I finally did it! After work on Sunday, I bought a postcard for 79 cents! I sat down and wrote a short, sweet note to my friend from Minnesota (who's also going to be my roommate next year! Can't wait!) about how I miss her and can't wait for school to start! I didn't know how much it would cost to send it though, so I took it to the post office with a birthday package for one of my other friends and a letter to England for my pen pal. I guess the postcard just took a normal stamp, so I felt like kind of an idiot, but hey it was my first time! Anyways, I ended up sending it yesterday and can't wait until she gets it! I didn't tell her I sent it, so I'm hoping it's a nice surprise!

I chose the cutest one I found, which was this adorable Polar Bear playing in the snow! Ahhh, the perks of working at the zoo :) And that's another thing knocked off my to-do list! This summer is proving to be very successful and I'm excited to send even more postcards! Maybe I'll send some to my friends when I go on vacation to Myrtle Beach later this summer. Can't wait :)
