To do list: #28

#28: Join a book club

Since book clubs are kind of scarce on a college campus, I decided to take things into my own hands and for my own Jane Austen Book Club! Our first meeting was on Valentine's Day and we read Persuasion by Jane Austen. I was so nervous going into the meeting because I had no idea how it would go or how chatty the other members were going to be. There were four of my friends who showed up and while that's a pretty small group, I think it was perfect for discussing the book. We all loved the novel and had so much fun discussing it together. We swooned over Wentworth and Anne, complained about Mary, and fell in love with Austen's writing.

Next meeting, we've decided to read Pride and Prejudice and meet for dinner as well as the book club. I can't wait to read this one because I am in love with the movie and I've heard it's her best book. Hopefully I'll love it as much as I'm expecting too. Our meeting is in two weeks, so I'll let you all know how that goes as well :) Needless to say, discussing Jane Austen was the perfect ending to a pretty great Valentine's Day!

  1. I loved Pride and Prejudice. It was the first Austen book I read. I was inspired your post about reading Persuasion and just started it again. Hopefully this time I will actually finish it.
