Currently...

(I got this idea from Mandi. Love her blog!)

Obsessing over animal shaped rings, my new running shoes, baking, reading at least a book a day, making money at my new job at the zoo, pastel nail polish, lip balm, and 80s movies. I just watched Some Kind of Wonderful and it was AWESOME! Why can't my life be an 80s movies??

Working on my afghan and staying organized. I'm hoping to finally finish the afghan sometime next week. I'm over half way done now!

Thinking about Liam Hemsworth. Seriously, how could he propose to Miley? Why doesn't he see I'm the one for him?? Haha, but I'm just thinking about how she's 19 and found the one she wants to share her life with. When will this happen to me?

Listening to Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Adele, Kris Allen, Florence and the Machines, Karmin, and One Direction. My summer playlist is on repeat.

Wishing for more time to finish this post before I'm late for work...

Obsession // 80s movies

So I have an obsession to share with you guys. I am undoubtedly in love with 80s movies.

The first is, obviously, The Breakfast Club. I don't know why, but there's just something that everyone can relate to with this one. I'm not a big fan of Molly Ringwald, but her movies are just so freaking good.

Long Duck Dong is my long lost love <3 haha, jk. But he's definitely my favorite character in Sixteen Candles. This is probably my favorite Molly Ringwald movie just because all of the characters are so great!

Ahhh the wrong Patrick Dempsey :) He is so cute in Can't Buy Me Love and i just can't get enough of this movie! I made all of my friends at school watch it and now they love it too :)

I love any kind of musical or dance movie, so of course Flashdance makes this list :) It's so good! What a feeling, keep believing!

Speaking of dancing...Dirty Dancing is obviously one of my favorites. Ahhhh I'll forever love Patrick Swayze <3

The Goonies is freaking fantastic. I can watch this movie over and over again and never get tired of it. Goonies never say die!

And last, but certainly not least, The Princess Bride. If anyone hasn't seen this movie, you are crazy. And you need to see it now. This is honestly one of the best love stories of all time.

And those are my favorite 80s movies! There are obviously so many more, but these are the ones that instantly come to mind when I think of that time. I seriously think I was born in the wrong decade...because living in the 80s would have been totally sweet.

In My Knitting Bag

I love knitting and crocheting, so I thought I'd share with you all what I carry in my knitting bag!

1) I use a Vera Bradley bag as my primary knitting bag. I love the owl pattern so much and it's roomy enough to fit everything I need

2) Just a couple of needles I keep in my bag. This isn't all I have, but these are in case I want to start a new project

3) My bag full of little knitting supplies

4) My yarn! These are the colors I'm using to make my Granny Square Afghan

5) I use one of the free makeup bags I got to hold all of my knitting supplies

6) My crochet hooks

7) I use a little Very Bradley pouch to hold my stitch markers that I made

8) My mom got me a tin supply kit from The Sexy Knitter. It includes a measuring tape, needles, a tiny pair of scissors, stitch holders, star stitch markers, cable needle, and double ended crochet hook. It's so nifty and has everything I would ever need. If you're a knitter, I would seriously recommend getting one of these!

9) A peppermint measuring tape. Not sure where my mom got it, but I love it!

10) Tapestry needles

11) Snitch stitch markers! They'e SO cute and my mom got them for me from Etsy

12) Some double pointed needles

13) More stitch holders for any projects I want to put away for a little bit

14) Pens! I always need to write down what row I'm on or else I get so confused and need to start all over again. Not fun!

And that's all in my bag! I hope you enjoyed getting a glimpse of my knitting life. What's a must have in your knitting bags? I'd love to hear!

Luscious lips

Soooo over the past few weeks I have acquired a slight obsession. For what? Lip balm :)

I have bought 3 kinds of Baby Lips lip balm from Maybelline (well, actually 4 but one went through the wash and is completely ruined. I was devastated!) and one EOS lip balm ball. I use them all the time and can't get enough of them! Every time I got to Kroger, I make sure to check the makeup aisle and see if they got any more flavors of these. They all smell so good and really work! I would totally recommend these lovelies to ANYONE! Seriously, if you haven't checked them out yet, you definitely need too. They leave your lips luscious and refreshed :)

Summer Tunes

The best thing I love about summer is the music that just puts you in a fantastic mood. And then, when winter rolls around, I can listen to those songs and remember those hot days where I rode round with the windows down and my sunglasses on...It's amazing how songs can make you feel! So here's a playlist of my favorite songs to listen to in the summer :)

Hope you enjoy my playlist! Let me know what you like to listen to during the summer! I'd love new ideas to add to my own playlist!

New Month = New Me

It's June! And I've decided that this month is going to be the best month yet! To start of the month right, I got a haircut yesterday (my first one in over 10 months. I know, I know, I just hate getting my haircut). Here's how it turned out :)

You like?? I love the new cut! My hair was just too long and now it's so light and perfect for the summer! I'd say June is off to a fantastic start!

Since it's a new month, I have a ton of goals I want to accomplish in the next 30 days. Here they are!

  • Work and earn money I got my very first paycheck today and I was so excited! I can't wait to buy fabulous things and show it off to all of you guys :)
  • Blog everyday I came close to blogging everyday last month, but this month I'm buckling down and getting it done. Hopefully I can pull this off!
  • Start a sponsorship program for July I would love to be able to feature other blogs on my blog and get the word about Sew In Love out there, so hopefully I can start a sponsorship program! If anyone wants to swap buttons, just let me know :)
  • Make a dent in the 100 classics list I haven't read a book on that list in forever and I really need to work on that!
  • Get caught up on my crafts I have so many knitting/crocheting projects I have to get done, so hopefully I can catch up on them this month!
  • Attempt that photo color challenge  Mandy from Miss Indie started a color photo challenge last month where she took pictures of everything red and I thought it turned out fantastic! So I want to try doing that on my own this month :)
  • Become more involved in the blogging community I love so many blogs, but I don't comment nearly as much as I should. I want to be more involved and interact with bloggers more this month
  • Knock some stuff off my to-do list It's summer! So I should be able to do at least two more things on my to-do list this summer.
  • Journal at least every other day I love journaling, but I'm wayyyy to lazy to do it after a long day at work. I need to work on this! Hopefully I can shave out some time to dedicate to putting my thoughts down on paper for the day!
  • Soak up the sun I'm way too pale for summertime! I need to spend my days off outside and getting myself a little tan :)

And those are my goals! Hopefully I can accomplish every single one of them this month. I have a feeling  June is going to be as awesome as these guys :)
